yeah, i like to LST and bush the plant out a little before it hits the screen. I use 14 gauge solid core(not stranded) wire for training. The wire is thicker than the wire my screen is made of and does a good job of holding back that upward force without scuffing or cutting into the branches...

I think it may be an issue of spacing. If your buds are close together(above the screen), then they probably won't benefit a great deal by it, being that they are packed together and can't get a whole lot bigger even if they wanted to. If you do have the spacing, I would definitely do it IMO...
