Mylar/Foylon vs Aluminum Foil *Title Fight*

Hello, how are you gentlemen? Doing well, I hope. I ask you to sit back, and consider the following. Mylar® is a trade name for a material from DuPont that consists of PET(polyester) fiber. Reflective Mylar® is made from aluminum deposit or technically is metallized and here to Mylar...

    Question about lighting..

Too vague. Sorry. You want 6500k, and to supplement with 2700k during flowering. My 42w is 2800 lumens. My 26w is 1600 lumens.

Here, http://www.gelighting.com/na/business_lighting/education_resources/learn_about_light/distribution_curves.htm , compare GE bulbs for yourself. It tells exactly the output levels within certain ranges. :peace:

    pro's and cons of lighting

If you bother to check my signature, and my thread. You'd find I'm well aware of PAR, photosynthetic active radiation. That lumens are a completely separate measure, intended for the human perception of EM waves. Even so, is not a complete measure, as it does not account for the majority of...

    pro's and cons of lighting

I'm not saying differently. HPS makes up for all its short-comings with sheer intensity. I've always agreed with this. But no one should let not having HID stop them from growing. It has been done with fluoros for decades, and CFLs do a lot better than regular fluoros. The message is often...

    Aluminum foil causes burn spots?

I agree, fdd. Reading bullshit is getting very old. I guess you could say the same about the fallacious majority, as you have to me. But you're too popular for that. ;)

You compare lights with lumens. How is comparing them on brightness any different? It's derived from the same thing. Don't put pretend to speak for me. Thanks.

    Aluminum foil causes burn spots?

Why not? Ohhh.. ad hominem attacks. Nice. You earned being on my ignore list. Oh, that's all that's affected? So first he says not to "listen[sic]" to me. Though I'm not speaking, and you can't hear me. Then he agrees with my point: aluminum > paint. Let me reiterate...

    help with lights???

I suggest both bulb types for flowering. I've seen flowering 6500k versus 1:1 6500k:2700k. The ones with both flower more vigorously, and have usually been bushier. The ones with 6500k only continue to veg for a longer period, and out-grow the others.

I just think people shouldn't have to deal with inaccurate information. Having accurate information lets whoever make their own decisions.

    Aluminum foil causes burn spots?

It's aluminum. The choice for 99.99% of reflectors everywhere. You do that. Good luck. EDIT: And here's Brick Top. Oh look, Foylon and Reflective Mylar. Aluminum products. Amazing. Amazing they claim to be worse reflectors than aluminum at IR(95%). And claim to be better...

    Aluminum foil causes burn spots?

White paint is exceptional at diffusing light. Sending it every possible direction randomly. Resulting in less than half of the measurable light reflecting off it actually getting to another surface. Lots of light is being sent to the corners and all sorts of directions. It's all being...
