I don't know if they expire or not. I also use Superthrive, for vegging only. It can delay flowering if used later.

Yep, I've been watering from the top, and I hand water all of my plants. I always make sure the area right around the stem gets wet, so I know the water is hitting the roots.

Look at the main stalk, where the stems attatch. If a plant is vegged long enough, it will show preflowers before you flower. However - usually, they show within two weeks of being switched to 12/12.

Gotta be something else. My electricity is $0.12kw. Running a 600w, a 400w, a 324w CFL rack, half a dozen various fans, and a couple space heaters set on low, has increased my bill by around $100 a month. No way should yours be that high.
