glass cover for cfl - advice wanted.

You could use uh... clear 2 liter bottles(maybe make some vents). Glass jars and fragile bulbs(with mercury in uhm)... sounds somewhat risky.

    plz help clarify some things

Best to water in the morning, or right before or after you turn on the lights. Lots of opinions on nutrients... I prefer organics. About 1 foot and you'll need more light, if you have reflectors.

LED Grow Lights: Separating Fact from Fiction

I would agree with this, as far as making sense. You're way off, if anything your numbers are backwards. 100w of LED = 300w of HPS. And the LEDs last minimally 50,000 to 60,000 hours, reasonably. 8550 hours in a year. Running them 12/12, that's over 10 years of service. Which would be...

    The Ramen Noodle Thread!!!

It has your daily RDA serving of sodium. ;) -- My recipes: -- Smash a few times, pour, submerge barely, cook 2-3 minutes(varies, I like mine a little firm), mix in seasoning to taste(1/4th the packet or so for me, or before, I've done both, doesn't really make a difference, but the mess is...

LED Grow Lights: Separating Fact from Fiction

I'm not sure what your angle is.... The technology is incredibly durable. I don't know about *all* LEDs, but here's what Philip's has to say about their mortality/durability. It also explain the B/L ratings a lot more in depth. http://www.philipslumileds.com/pdfs/WP12.pdf Page 8 has...

    Trainwreck in midwest?

#1 More than once. #2 Midwest US has plenty of light & season length to grow 8-12 foot monsters. #3 They could probably be outdoors, Google your area and "last frost date". Should be able to find it easily. Starting them indoors a month or two before this date is excellent. #4 Several miles.

Diy hps reflector - Need help

Boobs, and pizza. :weed: Now that I have your attention. I don't know why, exactly, but it's all FUD. Attacks that assume you're incompetent, a fuck up, and can't do anything right. Then they flip it around for their own side, and assume you're using the 'best product...

    Any paper reflectors?

Foil doesn't cause hot spots. Your light does! Any reflective Mylar worth a shit is about twice as 'good' as foil at making intense hot spots. Foil is 50% diffuse while reflective(aluminized) Mylar is 25% diffuse. Reflective Mylar has a higher clarity, more mirror-like reflection. The more...

Temperature Problems in Rubbermaid Grow Box

Pretty much all aluminum reflectors are better are reflecting IR light(heat) than visible light, and they do even more poorly at UV light than either! But hey, you can still use aluminum foil to get a more even sun tan(you get a tan based on UV light). You don't have tin foil. You don't live...

Have to harvest early, would 48 hours of darkness help at all?

I suggest longer darkness, 10/14 or 12/14, this'll make the plant mature quicker.

First Time Grow 600w MH/ 1000w HPS! Soil! GRO TENT!! ALOT OF PICSSSs

My first thought was: you've over radiated your plants. Upon closer inspection I am not sure. Where did this start on the plant? Top, middle, bottom? What part of the leaf was affected first? The tips? When did this start? "after 2 weeks"? How long since then?
