Thanks mate, it's day 2 in the main cab with my new design. Only took 4 days for the seeds to root in the germ/clone led cab! That's a new record for me. I can see minuscule growth in 24 hrs. Temps at 25.6c @ 42% humidity. Ph is at 5.8 (no nutes yet), light is on 18hrs and I'm just waiting for...
i hope so, heres a pic of my mother which is 1 month away from being ready... got it growing on a balcony at a friends place.
thers actually 3 colas after I topped her.
Heres some pics of the full setup:
cab closed, cab open, lights on! - Can you spot the clone box???
heres some pics of my clone box, the light inside as 1 x cree mc-e 6500K white and 2 x cree XP-G 6500K white:
ive made a couple of lights. look at my sig.
Also, I dont agree with your color ratio. Red saturation must be more than 50% in my experience or your veg plants will look "shrivelled" or bleached.
Probably could be done but i HATE! SMD boards. hehe.
Because my setup is aero I was thinking of combing 4 micro DC pumps controlled by mosfets directly from the arduino board. and have 4 small reservoirs: PH UP, PH Down, Part A, Part B.
Currently in my aero setup the res is exactly 25 litres...
AdvancedNewbie, I have looked into getting something similar to a Cree mc-e module with 4x3w dies built into on led in parallel. My next design (if funds and time permits) will have an arduino UNO with LCD and function keys and a D15 socket that will allow me to:
- Set lighting schedule
-...
Haha indeed. Waiting on a couple of clones from a friend. His is primarily sativa dominant so it will be a challenging test. I can predict sensational results during veg but my blue ratio is slightly higher so flower MAY be a slow and unfruitful venture :p
It doesn't matter what brand in essence the constant current side of things is much the same. Make sure you get drivers with a soft start that are PWM controlled and have safety features like thermal protection.
Failing this, build your own :D
Guys, thought I'd mention... I ran the panel for 8 hrs in the cab. The panel stays extremely cool with fans at half speed +2 degrees C from ambient. Think I'm on a winner :)
Fans will be needed take it from me lol your LEDs will start to either dim as they heat or brighten until they fry depending on if the controllers have thermal protection. A nice panel but I have to ask. What's the green LEDs for :p
Interesting, I'm using an arduino ethermega board myself and bought some 2.4ghz transceiver modules, real time clock module, a ph sensor and some opamps to increase the ph sensors v range. My biggest debacle is getting auto mixers / pumps to do the auto mixing job. I figure I will keep it purely...
I think it's because led growers are naturally pedantic people maybe :p we look into new types of growing and experimenting and hence try this and that etc... Not sure if that makes sense but I know when I started with LEDs I monitored everything constantly and tried a few tricks here and there...
I posted this yesterday in another thread to clear up some confusion...
Ok. I feel the need to clear some of the electronic side up for people...
Firstly,
watts = volts x amps
Volts = current x resistance
Secondly,
A "3w" diode simply means its "average" nominal power consumption is...
