I take a small container and put like 2" of water in it and just float the seed on top. When they start splitting open I stickem in dirt.

Hey I have a question about flushing too :P Would it do any harm to pull the plants out of the darkness to do it? My lights are 10pm-10am and I'm not around when they're awake to do it :S

Pics of my updated area. First 2 pics show that I used copper pipe insulator tubes (with adhesive closures) on the majority of the perimeter of the door. Was the best solution I could come up with to keep light-bleed to a minimum. On the inside of the door (2rd pic) I used foam toolbox drawer...

that's funny actually cuz I have to have a humidifier to keep things from getting too dry :P Peak temp before my recent mods was 91.. I'm hoping for mid to low 80's.

I will. Right now though it's hotter than a mother here where I am (AC can't keep up and it's 80C inside, weather network says "93.2, feels like 100.4") and my room isn't going to be any cooler than what the rest of the house is. I'm almost wrapped up so I'll take some pics and post them up.

thanks, all said and done I prolly saved myself $50 or so, but the fun I had building it doubles that. Plus it's built for my operation, not some off-the-shelf unit. We'll have to see what it does for temps in my room. I'm still "renovating" as fast as I can to be ready for 10pm when my lights...

ok, so I didn't do a full DIY. Actually, I only took three pics. Took me an hour to assemble. Total cost - $160 and that's including the 2-speed inline 300cfm fan. Bought everything from princess auto and home depot (except the nylons, they were bought at walmart). Just have to wire up the cord...

Question - these tube-style filters you can buy or are diy'ing... It looks to me like a straight-thru muffler in that the air is passing through the center and not thru the charcoal. Or am I missing the part wher one end is capped?
