As far as I know, that looks like nute burn. excessive nutrients are stored in the tips of the leaves and cause a burning characteristic.

cfl and dwc are a wicked combo. that's why I use them, they compliment eachother. stealth grow a 400w hps as well as we can with as much wattage in cfls lol in my opinion zeroing in on certain areas day by day has been a great advantage of cfls. yo mhg how many you got in the rubbermaid?

resurrected from the dead. As far as I know, quality of bud is not determined by the size of your plant. I grew my plant passed 2 feet tall before I flowered and WOW it got fucking huge, that's all you really gotta worry about is your plant often doubles/triples in size once you flower.

For my past 3 DWC's i've used absolutely no tools. I measured the nutrient solution and that was it. Floranova and Superthrive. All organic and have never encountered issues.

there are some things you can control and somethings you cannot. try some oil or another lubricant throughout the moving pieces before you go to other extremities. fans generally aren't as loud as the wind they create. what is the type of sound you are hearing? whoooshing or whizzing?
