I would say go for it, fuck the chilly nights once it doesnt freeze you will be fine. As for the 10 hours of light, 2 hours off the recomended doesage? Not a bother.

Im nearly shure you can flower outdoors in winter in SoCal. Dont get me wrong im not from there but i dont think it freezes in the winter. Hopefully someone else with more experience on the matter could give you better advice.
