If you bend the top over then the light will stimulate them to get as tall and fat as the main cola. It's also worth remembering that all the energy the plant needs to grow & bud is created in the leaves. Cutting them off will have a negative effect on growth IMO.

Use as much light as the temps will allow for best results. I use a single 150w and the plants respond really well.
