Other than the micro possibly bonding with other nutrients because they are so concentrated which others have stated, I have read this as well but have no idea the science behind or even recall if the source was legit. I like to mix my base nutes after supplements because I use them to reach my...
Moving right along. Will be flipping this week while still in the veg tent, hopefully by keeping the 400W MH on them, they won't stretch as much as their mother did:
I have a couple, one for the 2 in the pic, then I have 6 clones I took from them that are waiting to go into the room that I am running separately since it will be a flood and drain.

I don't have experience growing that many plants, I usually do only a couple (trying my hand at 6 plants in my 2x4 next run). My current run is 2 plants in 5 gallon hydro buckets that I vegged for 5 weeks from clones. My tent is packed, horizontally and vertically.
Soil takes a bit longer, but...
No apparent problems from the cracked stem, already all healed up and everything attached has shown no signs of stress.
Girls are getting stinky and filling out.
I got it as a cut, is supposed to be Fucking Incredible OG. She is a leggy bitch, went from 10" to 38" after flip through a screen. Must get the stretch from the OG side of the family, or I screwed up when I flipped and should have kept the 400W MH for the first couple weeks of flip instead of...
It seems like every grow I try to throw a little challenge my way by screwing around to much. I was messing with my screen last night and cracked one of the larger stems near the base. I checked this morning and everything looks ok, hate that I do something stupid like that with them 6 weeks in...
Screw it, I put the MH in last night anyway. I don't have a spare extraction fan for heat, so I had to do some "creative engineering", but temps are topping off around 78 so far.
Just for ideas, I am trying 2 different styles for my 2x4
Top drip buckets to an external res, they drip through the top and drain oout of the bottom of the 5 gallon buckets back to the res to recirculate:
5 weeks of veg and this is about 5 weeks from flip:
Once these are done, I have...
I use the same cement mixing tub. For a table I am using a small table I built out of a scrap piece of plywood (3/4" thick) and a space 4x4 I had laying around for the legs. I just drilled a 6" hole for the fill and drain holes and I put 3/4" holes in all 4 corners so I can mount a screen made...
An external res can be used in several forms of hydro. The advantages that I see are I can check and modify my res at any time without opening the tent, it also helps to keep the res water from getting to warm and makes it much easier to drain and clean.
As a hydro newbie also, it sure seems like a lot more work and definitely use more nutrients ($$) but it is fun to tinker with. One thing that does make life way easier is having an external res, the bigger the better if you need any "away" time.
I want to put in the mh, but I am just trying h to keep them small and alive until I know when they can move to the bigger tent. I will probably wait until I have 1 week left on the flowering girls.
