First post! probably a stupid question

Wow guys, you're all making this a little too complicated. Just think about it...............when you're buying hoods online or at the store (which come with their own sockets), do the hoods say which size bulbs they're designed for? Got it? Good.

First post! probably a stupid question

Yup, they'll be fine. Of course, your ballast will need to be matched to your lamp's wattage and type (MH or HPS).

    4x4 Tent - Blue Hash and A-Train

There's no reason to not dry in the tent, other than not being able to clean the tent while they're drying. I personally like being able to control the heat and humidity while I'm drying.

    Wonders Medical Grow: Round 2

Long vaca? Thought you'd find it humorous that after advising you to not do it, I've not decided to go full fledged vertical for my next project............a coliseum-type PVC buildout.

A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

I'm actually making my reservations for a wedding down in Kentucky in a coupla months; never really been south for anything but Florida before, so that should be interesting - gonna take a bourbon distillery tour. And you think that VSC will make the fans noisier than they already are? The...

A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

Hmmmm, that's weird........was on the phone for about 15 minutes today with an AC expert, and he said the reverse regarding portable vs. window - said that window units were much more efficient/durable, and that for what I needed, a window unit was certainly the way to go. The issue with...

A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

Hmmmmm................sounds like this is something that won't be getting done anytime soon :wall: Wanted to get 220V in there so I can run a large (18-24K BTU) window air conditioner, but I guess I could just run two smaller ones that run off of 110V. Any idea if a 14K and a 10K would be...

Bubblelicious, New York Power Diesel, and Super Skunk in DWC

Grrrrrrrr................I forget who said it, but someone on this site said that controlling temperature/airflow while also being tasked with controlling odors is the hardest part of indoor growing. I'm starting to agree with him. Also Caz, not sure I'm able to turn that garage/shed line to...

A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

Good looks on the voltage circuit tracer; for $80, I think I'll just take a small light in there and turn breakers on and off and figure it out that way, though :hump: Regarding the 220V, so basicallly you need two circuits to make that happen, as each circuit is only capable of running 110V...

    Mitus - 4x 1000W // CO2 // Sealed Room // Hydro Drip

A coupla things: 1) Definitely get one that you can run a hose off of to constantly drain - if your setup is anything like my sealed setup, my dehumidifier (25 pints) would fill up two or three times a day in my 4x4 tent, and when it filled up, it obviously turns off, giving me >90% humidity...

A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

I'm sorry dude, I totally fucked that up. I grow my tomatoes in my garage, but since it appeared that the garage and shed were sharing a line/power whatever, I figured I'd show you some pics of the shed's outlet/wiring to get a feel for if the garage has 220V or not - clearly I didn't...

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

Thanks; pretty well informed of what I need (I'm a research-a-holic), so an aluminum muffler and some other things are up there on the list. Took out the link from my journal (because I'm starting a new one soon with 9 plants/sf that I meant to put in there), but there's been some heavy talk...

Honey I blew up the Grow Room....oh shit

Looking good, dude. Probably a bit of overkill for a lb. every two weeks, but you only live once, right?

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

If doing a "bare bones" simple setup, you'll need a tank, a regulator, some CO2 tubing (just like aquarium tubing but with really little holes), and a timer. That's it; should run you <$300 all-in, especially if you use Craigslist to your advantage (I got three 20# tanks for $125 from there).

moving plants in-n-out of the house

It won't hurt the plants in terms of "movement", but picking up a pest out there and bringing it inside could be quite a pain in the ass. Just be careful to keep them away from other plants where bugs could get on it and you should be okay.

    ill be your best friend....

Agreed with pretty much everything above. That being said, I'd definitely let you sick my duck. Oh, and I voted for ya

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

Lol...........you really think I haven't thought of that? Not trying to be a dick, but really? Anyways, there's also the security aspect of the noise of high-powered fans creating noise out the wazoo.........it's actually something I'm working on right now, and I think I might've figured...

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

Technically this does work, but it's just not worth it in the cost/benefit analysis of things - this method ends up being MUCH more expensive than either a generator or tanks very, very quickly.

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

If you have steady access to an outdoor air source and good air movement, than that 300PPM air should do any normal grower fine. With a totally sealed room (my garage, with no windows or vents, kinda), my CO2 levels get down to the double digits (<100) and stay there (without my added CO2...

    Dense bud possible w/out c02?

Many people (myself included) don't have a way to get fresh air, and the CO2 levels in my 20x10 garage get depleted very, very quickly. That's why I was forced to purchase all the CO2 doodads. Got a generator, Sentinel CHHC-1 and three 20# tanks, but I'd love to be able to just have a fresh...
