Yeah I called the hydro store and confirmed that organic amendments can still cause nutirient burns/toxicites. They said to just pour extra water and wait it out. Should recover no problem.
I've got 4 plants(indicas) in Veg about 5 weeks from clone. They're in 5 gallon smart pots with soil. Assuming time isn't an issue, roughly how big or how long can I veg before I'm dealing with root bound plants?
I'm trying to fill out my scrog net fully before I flower. I know they'll double in...
It's spotty but many of the older fan leaves have a darker shiny color to them. That and the random clawing look on some of them has me believe it's nitrogen toxicity.
So assuming it is, I'm wondering where I could've gone wrong here considering it's strictly an amendment I'm using...
There has...
just curious how likely it is to get nitrogen toxicity( or any nutrient toxicity for that matter) if you're only using organic soil, PhD RO water w calmag and an organic amendment every couple of weeks.
Plants are a month old in veg and showing signs of what I think might be nitrogen toxicity...
This probably happened as a result of underwatering and having "hot soil"
For all I know it was correct nute amounts but just not enough water. Oh well, we shall see..
Awesome advice. I think you nailed it the more I read about N toxicity.
Just water for a while.
Not sure if I want to flush... I don't want to cause any root rotting. Just let it sort out over time gradually?
Yeah I figured maybe it was from LSTing them the day before. Trying to fill out this entire grow tent before I flip them to flower.
I'm going to look more into N toxicity. You might be right.
Hahaha! Damn you should've just nodded and said something like, "yeah I figured as much." Would've made you look like a nutrient genius!
Anyways. After you get your lotto tickets (and win) don't forget about said little people who inspired you :)
It's dry. It's ingredients are found below:
"This simple to use, natural and organic plant food is mixed in small batches. Its potent combination of seabird and bat guanos, earthworm castings, fish meal, and other natural inputs provides a wide range of organic food sources for plants and...
I was afraid of that. Mislead that organic can't cause nute burn... on their site it says .5 cups per 5 gal of soil every 10-14 days. Of course I know as with any nutrient company their goal is to sell as much as possible, not worry about how my plants are doing. I just thought I had underfed...
To clarify.i noticed the yellowing tips BEFORE I gave the 1/2 cup feeding. I thought maybe this was a sign of phosphorous or nitrogen deficiency as both started at the bottom with the few necrotic leaves, seemed to skip the middle, and cause the new growth to be a lighter green( still emerald)...
plants seem to look pretty good. I've got 2 gorilla glues and 2 sky walker ogs sitting in 5 gallon smart pots using fox farm ocean grow, RO water with calmag and every 10 days I top the soil with growilla veg from botanicare. The first 2 feedings I think I underfed as I wasn't very informed how...
I've heard some good advice here. Put a fan on the bottoms. Is it a smart pot? What's your temp and humidity? I also like the idea of suspending them a bit to dry out the bottoms. Place down two bricks and rest on top of that. If your soil is still wet after 3 days you're frequency might not be...
thats crazy! Just seems counterintuitive to put soap on a plants growing medium. this in no way can cause issues? I dont want my buds tasting like soap. Too many bad memories having my mouth washed out as a child :)
