Agreed
This is why the first thing you need to learn when dealing with electricity is knowing how to use a multi-meter to check for current. And knowing how and where to disconnect that current.
No harm done. The only reason I know that I have been eyeballing them for a while. And I have a bunch of 400 watt mh ballast so that is what really caught my eye. They are proud of them though $$$ And I am cheap LOL.
I am not talking shit when I say this but you need to learn this kind of stuff. It can be a pain in the ass and daunting at times, I know, but when you can't pay an electrician to come in do these things for you you are going to have to do some of this shit yourself. Just do as much research as...
@chuck estevez Who comes on here and shit talks someone else's grow? Who the fuck are you? I thought this was supposed to be a "community"? You add nothing positive to the thread, just agree with some other shit talker. Way to go dude
You are pretty much just proving my statements with every lame ass childish post you add at this point. You sir are a troll. Put that in your signature.
What is he supposed to do? Call an electrician? Its not legal where he's at. A lot of you on here seem to forget that it is still illegal in most places!
Usually on the breaker, yes. I have no idea how the rep thing works, it don't matter. This site ain't all what I thought it was going to be anyways. You welcome for the help but still look it up on YouTube. Seeing it done is worth a thousand words.
You must not be keeping her happy. So now we know you don't grow AND you don't know how to please a woman. Fucking faggot. Tough guy behind a keyboard over here guys, look out for this one. Seriously, if we were face to face you'd be swallowing some teeth. Pussy
The one in your fuse box. They basically just snap in and out, Its not hard. Youtube it but be careful.Turn off the main power coming in before you do anything, obviously.
I have never owned a solis tek ballast but my 1000 watt magnetic ballast I used to run also got hotter than shit. A 1000 watt ballast on 120 volts will pull 9-10 amps, maybe a little more on startup. The further your cord gets the more draw it will have and some digital ballast have problems...
Then you need to replace your breaker. Run cords from anywhere in the house if you have to. Try and keep it as short as you can though especially the cord used for the 1000 watt.
Thats too many amps for one 15 amp breaker.
Nothing works in the room? If its just one ballast it might have blown an internal fuse. You also might need a new breaker, they can only trip so many times before they need replaced.
You need to figure out which breakers run each room(s). If you...
The Philips All Start bulbs require a mag ballast, says they are designed as a direct replacement for probe and pulse start magnetic ballast. I don't know if there are any negatives to using them with a digital ballast, but I guess you'll find out. I've heard the higher frequency will shorten...
The only negatives I've heard for the curved sine wave was that it was harder for current digital ballast to produce a consistent wave at the higher frequencies they run. Do the new CMH's run at high or low frequency? If they run low frequency then I can't imagine there would be much of a...
They make ceramic discharge metal halide lamps that screw right into any mogul socket, as long as you're using a magnetic ballast. Philips Allstart CDM lamps. Google them. 330 watt and 860 watt, I believe. They are a direct replacement for the old 400 watt and 1000 watt MH lamps. The coolest...
Looked in to B vitamins and amino acids myself and asked the same question-are they worth it? Do they do anything? I wish this forum had some botanist or horticulturalist for members. I've given up on most supplements myself. I've heard that b vitamins may help with the plants immune system but...
Yeah, I can see how I kinda contradicted myself a little there. And the whole watt is a watt is a basic comparison between two technologies that are not as far apart as you would like. Leds may be slightly more "efficient" but at what cost? And also because its negligent to tell people that a...
