The only benefit leds have over hps that is obvious to me is that the large area of light output-the diodes are spread out over the whole light fixture. The same benefit T5's have-the overall source of light is spread out, and thus, more useable.
And what is a umole? Are you talking about...
Nice. How do you like your cycle timer? I used to have an analog one but it was a piece of shit. Was not accurate at all, you basically had to guess then check it with a watch. The digital one I have now is much better.
So you're saying a 300 watt led is almost an equivalent to a 600 watt hps? I'd like to see that.
Leds are @ about 100 lumens per watt hids are around 120 lumens per watt.
Leds also produce an extremely minimal amount of uv light. Thats not a good quality in a grow lamp. We all know uv light...
Its gonna be a while... A month or two. Depends on how well you do your part and how many clones you're going to want. Let her grow for now and let her do her thing.
This is hilarious! Not legal at all where I'm at so reading these post about people just growing shit wherever is just stupid.
If I was stupid enough, legal or not, to just grow shit out in my backyard the neighborhood crackheads would steal it for sure. They steal anything else thats not...
Running these ladies with 1/2 tsp per gallon.
Only thing I really have to add is calmag with the dyna gro. Some strains are obviously different and some of my plant were showing slight calcium deficiencies. I also add pro tekt but going to try not adding it and see if my reservoir pH stays a...
I'm pretty pleased with Dyna Grow's 7-9-5 right now. Like @homebrewer said already, its potent stuff though so back it way down. I want to try the foliage pro but looks like I'll have to order it online as my local shop only carries the grow 7-9-5 but I would probably still flower with the 7-9-5...
I think you have that backwards. MH gives you closer node spacing and less overall stretching.
If I was going to use only one it would be the MH bulb. I know that doesn't really help the OP. You can use HPS in a pinch but I would get the replacement MH bulb for sure.
Plenty of that around here, thats for sure. You'll also get some members who think they know more than the people with degrees do. Thinking they've found some new, unheard of information that no one else has discovered. And that "well known member" tag doesn't mean shit either. When I first came...
I was more defending dtw as a method more than justifying the OP's method of dtw.
Yes, traditional fill and dump top feeding out of a watering can or something is technically "draining to waste" but a drain to waste system refers to something a little more, not much more, complicated.
Right...
First off, you don't dump a res every day with dtw. You fill a reservoir with nutrient solution and a portion of it is pumped daily to the plants using a single pump on a timer. Once the reservoir is pumped down you make a new batch. Think of it like a fuel tank. Bigger the tank, longer it last...
I look at it the other way.
How much water does it take to fill your res? How much do you add back to it before dumping and refilling? So, from one fill to the next how much water/nutes do you use? You probably use quite a bit of water, so do I in a DTW setup. But mine is balanced and clean...
