Well I hope it catches on here.
Thx GG... It's weird how much enjoyment it brings, not even the end result but just the growing and tinkering and the countless hours of just staring at the plants.
lol yeah looks like the bonsai hero doesn't trim very close. But still very impressive what he gets.
Btw the only other LED grow here on RIU that mentions the g/kWh that I know of is from gg/tags, I believe it was around 1.0. If there are others plz let me know.
Hey guys, here are some pics from the final harvest.
These are two freshly cut cindy's, one on the left of the coathanger and one on the right. The one on the right is the lowest yielding plant of all with 43 gram.
The effect of C99 is like a more mellow version of mushrooms, really trippy and...
Guys please realize that the Vero family is very warm, warmer than Cree by about 500K
Vero 3500K ~= CXA 3000K
Vero 4000K ~= CXA 3500K
The Vero 3000K is too warm already. I experimented with Vero 3000K and plants stretch fast under it; There simply is not enough blue light present. For Vero I...
The two cindy's were pulled from the flowering room at day 58. Here are there first and final moments in the sunlight before the darkness sets
Their place is now taken by an ICE that has been vegging for three months. It was one of the original six seedlings but it could not keep up with the...
That makes sense but what I was hoping for was that the stored carbs were used to make more resin :-) Like O&R I did the googling but found nothing conclusive. So what I did was to make a picture of the trichomes before going into the dark and then another picture after three days of darkness...
Glad you like it Bueno. I love organic too, it's just so easy. Here's an experiment with an organic hempy-bottle:
Look at the algae growing at the bottom, a hydro grower would be like OMG HOW DO I KILL IT while I can just sit back, relax and leave the micro-management to all the...
Thanks guys. It still looks a bit early to chop, the buds are still swelling and the trichome bulbheads too.
I would like to try putting her three days into darkness before chopping. Legend has it that this increases potency and aroma and cuts the curing time.
It's getting really close now. This Cinderella probably has just a few days left?
This top clone of her is coming along nicely. Was repotted today and as you can see it was about high time.
How about some cool white LED bulbs. The Cree Globe 5000K looks nice (PPF is 1.3 umol/J). Btw you could also take clones from clones bypassing the need for mother plants.
There is is no UV or IR included that figure, only from 400-700nm. Btw this is specified by Philips and not something that I calculated. I hope that the LED panel manufacturers will also start to publish their PPF figures because this makes it super easy to compare, also against totally...
To be fair to the CMH lamp, it's doing 1.9 umol/J which is a tiny little better than the COBs we're using, and the electronic balasts for it can have an efficiency of 95%.
The colored arrays are a bit of a relic from the past, they still pull their weight but I would like to replace them with vero's. I very much like the way the small vero's are spread out, it gives excellent light spread and can be close to the canopy.
It turns out that modern whites from 2700K-5000K with normal CRI have more or less the same LER of about 325 +- 10. So when the lumens drop it is a reasonable assumption that the efficiency has dropped. Either that or it has a freak spectrum.
I think it is nice but you could just as well pick...
Cree does not give spectral curves for the 2700K unfortunately. There is a large lumen drop when going from 3000K to 2700K which tells us that the 2700K is not very efficient. Bbspills is doing very well with the 2700K though, he just pulled 100gr from what I believe is 100W. Judging from his...
