    $2 f-series strips

I've played around with these strips and a cheap re-purposed driver from a blurple light, but still haven't actually purchased (if I end up not using these free drivers I have on hand) drivers or started any kind of build with them yet. I think it all comes down to what size area you are trying...

All COB Users - Lettuce Grow Challenge!!

Not lettuce, but two little tents going with some kales. Been inconsistent with the watering, but all everything is doing ok. A flowering tobacco plant in one and I think it's some nettle in the other, rest kales. 2x 3000k qb v1s at around 60 watts in a 2x2.5ft tent. The other is a timber 2vl...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Was just snooping around arrow at some samsung strips again and came across these cheap 90 cri strips. They are discontinued lm561b+ diodes, but there are a few different 90cri color temps/diode counts available right now for around/under $1. Do you guys think pairing something like these...

    Soil question

Nice, mulch definitely helps. Yea I would just try to water a bit more frequently if possible. Out of curiosity, did you water in the plant when you transplanted or did you wait a day or two?

    Soil question

It sounds like the peat just went hydrophobic on you. Peat is hydrophobic when it dries out, so it will repel the water down "channels" instead of absorbing the water. I face this issue way more than I would like to admit due to poor watering routines, but as long as you stay diligent with...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

As far as I understand, either cc or CV drivers work, it really is just about how you want to wire them up, in series, parallel or series/parallel. Sorry I'm not the best at explaining these things and should probably just bow out and let the big boys handle it, but just trying to offer my...

    cheap blurple drivers

Finally got around to actually wiring up some bridgelux strips to get a feel for series/parallel wiring now. I learn better after actually doing things, so this makes me more comfortable with xlg drivers for an actual build with these. Two f series in parallel on one channel and the other...

Solution Needed, Tired of Using Bottled Cal-Mag

What kind of light are you using too? I red some post in the led section about uv/violet wavelengths in the spectrum helping to aid in cal/mg absorption. I have not looked into this any further and am no source of knowledge at all really, but just another thing to keep you pondering on the...

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

I have two days off in a row this week, so I may just have to get around to harvesting this bin that's been going forever. I haven't harvested it since I moved out of Colorado and that was almost two years ago, but these worms are long overdue for a fresh setting. I'll post up some pictures when...

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

Look beautiful sir. I remember reading and liking a lot of your posts in the bodhi thread. Some nice pictures over there from you as well from what I can remember. I'd love to see the results from your em/photo plus test though. My city tap water has chloramine and is above 8 ph, so my next...

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

I have been wanting to stop by a nursery and grab a couple aloes, but stumbled across these seeds and figured why not try them out. I'll update if they start popping up though. Grabbed a few packs so hopefully can get at least a few plants going.

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

I'm confined to a one bedroom apartment, so can't get too crazy. Had a nice grow going but had to chop mid flower due to an inspection. Didn't want to risk it anymore, so just going to play around with lights and random things for now. At least I won't be messing with legal issues this way...

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

Chopped some clover that was growing in some veggie pots yesterday. Just threw it on top of the bins and took a couple pictures. Sorry shitty quality, but I'll get some better ones of the worms in action soon.

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

Yea those are some big boys. For the last two bins I set up, I got some reds and some european night crawlers. Do you mix your worms into the same bins or do you keep them separate? I keep my worms inside so never really worried about temperature issues, I always just assume that they are in a...

    organic potassium?

I use kelp meal in all my mixes I've made, but just recently picked up some greensand to help with the K a bit. From what I've gathered about greensand, it will take a long time to become fully available to the plant, but is a nice addition to the micro nutrients as well as K. I mixed some...

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Always feel like I pick up a little more understanding of it all from your posts. Excited to see the new lights from you guys though. Going to save all my extra pennies for when it's released.

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

Yea, I was misreading the datasheet and thought these had to be run a lot lower than that. Went back and saw prawns posts this time too, so definitely seems like you got a good path to follow. Hope it all comes together nicely for you.

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

I did some half ass math last night and remember coming up with 16 strips per xlg-150 as a nice fit for running them close to nominal current wired in 2s8p per fixture. Not sure the size area and if you trying to use for veg/flower, just my thoughts when I was looking at them.

Samsung H series strips, Arrow seems to be blowing them out! what a deal!

For sure, I wish I understood it all a bit more clearly, but I'm slowly coming around. Yea, the deals they've been running on the lm561c diode strips has been nice and I hope to see some nice builds around.
