Not all the cuttings swell like that. Ones that did took longer to root. So I figured its not good to swell like that. Had to be a fungus, pathogen. Or virus. Idk

I don't think splitting does anything really. But where the string is removed, the roots spew out the groove. However far the grove goes, that's how far the roots will go up the stalk

Areo means plants out of water being sprayed, not submerged.

I don't use a dome. I don't spray. I cut em, install in cloner, and walk away. Fish tank heater in the water, temp set with add on temp controller.

So I started using chlorine. I used the tabs and dissolved them but any kind would work. I made the chlorine so strong it burnt my nose....yikes! But Hey , I'm back to having good roots in 2 weeks.

Hey, I know this is a few months old, but I run those same lamps. I removed the ballasts and extended the wires. Works great. I also built 2 long boxes (18"x18"x12') to hold 4 lamps each. Then ran ducting in and out. The air travels threw both boxes and cools 8 lamps.....love it!

Also added magical Epsom salts... I think (not fact, just a thought) that by raising the ppm of mg, then the calicum and magnesium were closer in ppm and no longer locked out. I'm no chemist, just a mechanic
