You can grow a tree in a 2 gallon pot with coco..........I average 4-5 oz. per plant with a 3-4 week veg. This is what they look like at 2 weeks from sprout just before transplant.

I germinate in rapid rooters, place in solo cups as soon as they sprout, and transplant to 2 gallon pots at 2 weeks.

I've been using rapid rooters for decades and never had damping off. Ditch the paper towel and the excess handling........just stick them in the hole and in 3-4 days it will sprout.

I've used Mother Earth Coco in the past without issues.........never noticed an odd smell.

Too early to tell. How old is the plant?

That depends on your medium, the size of the plants, and how far into flower they are. If it's coco you feed every day to run off........the amount is immaterial as long as you have run off. If it's soil you feed when the pots are light.
