    Coco Growers Unite!

Oh, I know. I'm referring mostly to water retention gels. A lot of people are going to tweak their preferred medium or growing method to suit their own personal preferences, but at some point it becomes counterproductive. Gotta know when to quit. I think water retention gels are a step or two...

    Coco Growers Unite!

What's the advantage to mixing it with gel? The more you mix shit in with the coco, the more you might as well not be using coco at all. To me, coco is already the perfect medium. When properly textured, it's the perfect balance between good drainage, good oxygenation, and good moisture...

Need help. Dont know whats wrong with plant.

From your description of what's causing this to happen, I'd say you've got nothing to worry about; that's normal. It's called ":torpor." Think of your plant as a machine, a machine with an engine in it. The engine runs off of light and water - light on the leaves causes the engine to suck water...

Does these clones look fairly healthy ?

Yeah, if they've got roots, make sure they've got something to eat. You have to remember, there's a huge difference between seedlings and clones - a clone is actually a fully mature plant, just a really small one. Once the roots are established, they should be fed like an adult plant. Not sure...

Does these clones look fairly healthy ?

They all look like they just played a couple of games of pond hockey, but they're salvageable. How long ago were they rooted? They don't look as though they have very good root systems yet. Might want to put them under a humidity dome until they start drinking on their own.

    Electricity concerns..

Exactly. Same here. I only run about 2500 watts, and it's easy to lose that heat in the background signature of a whole house. I just vent underneath the house, and circulate the ambient air from the room with the rest of the house. I also have an in-room air conditioner unit for that room if...

    Electricity concerns..

Two things - if you're building in a rural area, people talk. Word gets around. So I'd get out in front of the issue and take control of the narrative right from the beginning. Let the builder know that you're a potter, and that this part of the structure is going to be a ceramics studio...

    P.H readings and Dissolved Oxygen

Yeah, that's definitely the direction I want to be looking for my next grow. I'm so late into flower on this run that I don't want to mess around with anything anymore, but I'll be looking at that in the next one. This was never a problem for me in previous grows, and is one of the very few...

    Lighting System for Seedlings

Yeah, T5 is definitely the best way to go for seedlings. I don't use it for cones for logistical reasons that I'd rather not go into in public, but if my setup allowed for it I definitely would. It would make it much easier on the clones, and would make less work for me in terms of managing my...

    Lighting System for Seedlings

Yeah, if you only want to use one HID light from beginning to end, make it HPS. It's a lot easier to veg under HPS than it is to flower under MH. I use an Eye Hortilux enhanced spectrum bulb start to finish, and I have no problems at all in veg.

Yeah, a lot of people freak over foxtails... I don't get it. "OMG, I had foxtails, so I chopped the whole grow and started over!!!" Jesus, man, WTF? It's bud! Yeah, it may not have the best bag appeal because a lot of people think it looks funny, and yeah, foxtailing can often be an indicator...

I was just told coco is treated as hydro?

Oh, geez, I just scrolled back and realized you specifically asked about ph. Sorry; I missed that. Yeah, I treat the ph totally as though it were hydro. I keep it in a range between 5.8 and 6.1, sometimes as low as 5.7 or as high as 6.2, but only very rarely and never for long. Early in the...

I was just told coco is treated as hydro?

It's a pheno hunt, and I got lucky. Now I just need to reveg these damned things, because I didn't take cuts off of either one of them. They were both sativa dominant, and I was focusing on indica traits, but by the time I realized how much they were going to bud out, they were too far into...

I was just told coco is treated as hydro?

I'm on my first coco grow, and I'm already sold on it. It's the best medium I've ever grown in, as far as I'm concerned. It's a whole different way of growing - sort of a hybrid between soil and hydro - but the more you tend toward treating it like hydro, the better results you seem to get...

That's exactly what I do, too - hammer 'em hard in several different weeks. I'm in Week 9, and still pounding the PK - and still getting new bud growth. In Week 7 they started to foxtail, but I didn't care. Just kept hammering them, and now the buds are swelling out to surround the foxtails (or...

    P.H readings and Dissolved Oxygen

7.5 to sometimes 8 for a ph, and about 200 PPM - almost all of which appears to be calcium. RO won't do anything to help the ph, so I'll still need to use some form of ph down, but at least it gives me some extra what I call "PPM headroom" - I always try to keep any unnecessary dissolved solids...

Week 7 flower. Time to flush?

You mean the one in his avatar? Does look like some kind of demon cola, doesn't it?

    P.H readings and Dissolved Oxygen

I have a lot of calcium in my tap, and when I add calmag, I'm putting even more calcium in. Then when I add the phosphorous in the Ph Down plus the phosphorous in the bloom nutes, and chill the rez down to the low 60s, the calcium and phosphorous bind together as calcium phosphate - the water...

    P.H readings and Dissolved Oxygen

Sheeeit, niggas - I'm using as much as 30 to high-30s ML for a 15 gallon reservoir, just to get it down to around 6.0. I fucking hate it in bloom because my rez is loaded with phosphorous before I even add the PK boost, and it seriously fucks with my nute slections. I have to dial back on...

Week 7 flower. Time to flush?

Maybe not even two weeks. At this stage in flower, things can change really fast. You might be cutting them a week from now. But I'd say two weeks is a good guess, although I'm basing that off of only one of the pictures. How are the trichomes looking? Have they stopped sprouting white pistils...
