Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

No room for a ceiling fan in the closet. What mean well driver would run 2 Noctua fans? Going to run them at .3-.5A

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

What are the most efficient fans to circulate air in a grow room? I want to buy 2. Looked at the Honeywell HT-900, Which is cheap and works well, but then I saw the Dyson AM06, and it uses a fraction of the power while being quieter and moves more air. One being $15, the other $300. There a...

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

Between 700-1400ma I think. I plan on buying 5-6 cxm22s, and mount them on 163mm pin fin heatsinks in a 4x3x7ft closet. Probably 1400ma to get the proper PPFDs needed I think. I'm actually thinking I just won't bother with the fans, and just get 2 Honeywell ht-900's on low for really good...

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

I would imagine no. But a few extra Watts to keep them alive longer is the goal. If the setup becomes more efficient, obviously a plus. I'm sure when you're running hot, you'll gain from cooling, but if it's already cool, running cooler I won't imagine will help. Diminishing returns I guess...

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

Anyone have any luck attaching a 120mm fan to pin fin heatsinks? I have 4-5 I want to use when I make my next COB kit. Figured keeping the chips cooler would help with efficiency? Looking at the 163mm pin fins if that matters.

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

Buuuut the pin fin would run cooler giving higher (maybe relatively?) Efficiency? Not criticizing just asking a question. These intrigue me.

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

Only question about your setup, I see your mounts, does this mean you won't use pin fin heatsinks to emulate realistic temperatures, which correlates to efficiency I think?

Any ETA on when to check back in this thread for sphere testing? Just really interests me to see how accurate the manufacturers specs are compared to our real world usage. These COBs have come such a long way

Any holders support the cxm22 yet without soldering anything? Looks like your light engine requires some soldering

Are there any ideal holders for the cxm22s yet?

Fair enough, I'll wait for citizen and the cxm22's test results and data. Look promising!!

Do these look like they're worth getting excited over? Starting another cob grow in the spring :) Surprised Cree hasn't came out with anything else yet...

    Any MarsHydro 300 users?

I always hear more smaller lights are better than one big light. Easier to distribute the light more evenly. I'm sure the 600 will do the job though. They're just slightly less efficient than the COBs that are taking over in the diy section

    Any MarsHydro 300 users?

I could sell you mine. I grew my plant too big for it, but it still worked. Just not ideal for larger plants. Smaller plants with the light close it should do fine. I'm moving onto COBs, more money but better results for what I want.

What answers are conflicting? You're asking if you should use the holders or just adhesive correct? I also would go bare optics. I'm not a guru by any means, just an opinion on what would be more efficient to keep the COBs cool.

Use the holders and the best thermal grease you can find. Arctic silver works, Arctic Cooling MX4 is my go to for computer related things, so I use that. Non conductive is a plus.
