You can water when the lights are on just take care not to splash your leaves, water the base. Make sure to pH after adding your nutes. Or it could and probably will go up.

If your not ph'ing your water. Chances are it's that. Incorrect pH will lock out certain nutrients available to your plant. My pH out of tap is 7.2 but by the time I've added the nutrients the pH is 8 or more, then I add distilled white vinegar to lower the pH to 6.5. Get a pH meter there like...

Thanks man but they are really tiny, barely as thick as my finger. I've seen some amazing CFL grows on YouTube and I just can't see my plants adding on all that mass within 4 weeks.

I'd go HPs after this grow but temps will be a nightmare in my cubby, I have filter and extraction running on high and even a fan blowing. My CFL still taking that cubby to 30 c on a few occasions. Yeah keep the exos going guys I would love to grow one eventually.

In that case get them on 24 hour light cycle and make sure you don't get them outside to early.

Lower your lights, 2 to 8 inches is ideal proximity for CFLs. Or your losing light intensity = wasted energy. Seriously get them within 2 inches of your tops.

Why not 18/6 or even full 24 hour light?

Nope wouldn't advise against it at all. Your plants will use both spectrums in veg and also in flower. Some blue during flower increases trich production. Not sure whether you "need" red spectrum during veg in regards to prepping your lady for flower it certainly won't hurt her though, people...
