So far it's just two limbs. Actually, the two parts of one topped limb. When I had this problem years ago, there were flies that looked like wasps on the plant. Then later lots of worms. I haven't seen either so far.

Last night on the way to the camp, I dropped off my pack with food and water for the GN patch. Had a thunderstorm during the night, and didn't get in there to carry it back this morning. Maybe tomorrow.

The Deer Ate CP1 on the other hand is in a world of hurt. Not sure the cause, but a couple of the limbs are dying from the top down. Any thoughts?

This is my healthiest looking CP1 female. This was the late transplant.

Tuesday morning I took food and water to the BP patch. Here are the two CP1 males. They are about 9 and 11 feet. Haven't decided which one I will use yet.

Hey guys. Was wondering if any of you have any thoughts on what is wrong with my Deer Ate CP1. Years ago I had one dying from the top down like this, but it was toward the end of flower, so I still got a good harvest. With this starting so early, I'm worried.

I think it takes 6-7 weeks for seeds to mature. So if you hit them on week 2, the seeds will be ready about when the flowers are. I don't see where washing the bud would be any different than rain.

What I do with males, if you don't mind a little pollen in the air, is to cut the shoots off, but leave the plant. It will grow new shoots. I've done it twice with my BST2 male, and will collect pollen one more time before cutting him down. In a mixed patch where you don't want all the plants...

I've sprayed my BST2's with neem a couple of times. They are on week 2 or 3, according to how you count. I haven't seen anymore worms, so I'm likely through spraying on them.

    Good Morning/Weather Report Suite

Good Afternoon. At 1600 it is sunny, 93F {HI of 105F} with 51% humidity. 20% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 71F tonight. We had a big thunderstorm come through about 1930 last night while I was at the camp. When the thunder got so loud I could feel it in my chest, I decided prudence...

All of the last round of GV1's in the HR patch are showing hairs now. This little fellow is lanky as hell, but looks nice and healthy.

    Covert Grow Ops/Sidetracked:

The youngest of the 88's{F1's} are the only ones yet to show hairs. I have two of the older 88's and 4 of the youngsters, counting the 2 deer ate ones. The older 88 in the Slo patch. Getting started.

The guy that came out to walk the land is actually the son of the land owner. He had his son and grandkids with him this morning, so I'm thinking he didn't look too long.. I bet they were mostly just looking from the road. I went to school with him. He did smoke 35-40 years ago. Not sure if he...
  14. Larry {the} Gardener

    Covert Grow Ops/Sidetracked:

That was kind of what I'm thinking. The plants are not that big. Unless he walked right on them, I don't think he would spot them. Four of them are in the middle of a grapevine thicket. You have to crawl to get to those sons of bitches. They might get run over with a skidder, but I doubt they...

I did the pick up trash beside the road thing to get back to the HR and PH patches. My cousin came by while I was heading back to the house and we talked for a few minutes. He told me the fellow who owns the land where the KP patches are was on the land cruising the pines to see if they were...

Food and water to the SOL. GV and Slo patches this afternoon. The deer had ate the young 88{F1} plant in the SOL patch. T-Pig is 65 - 1 = 64

    Covert Grow Ops/Sidetracked:

I did a dry run to the HR and PH patches this morning. I killed the GV2 male. I have a steady stream of folks coming in the office for copies, so I'll have to wait to load my pictures. T-Pig is 66 - 1 = 65

Had a storm & new leaves are wilting??

I would just wait and see what happens. Maybe go half strengthen on your next feeding. But it doesn't look too bad/ I always try to fill my pots with soil. Makes it easier when transplanting

Our use of so much meat is adding to the problem too. The fuel {and land} used to grow the feed, but the actual release of methane by cows is not a joke. Each cow releases the equivalent of 4 tons of Co2. More for dairy cows, less for beef cows. With 1.5 billion cows in the world, that is a lot...

The last ice age cut us down to something like 10K folks. That was cutting it pretty damn thin. I think as a species, getting through the hot climate ahead will be easier than fighting mile high glaziers. We might be growing our wheat in Canada soon though.
