    Cheap DIY Flip Box

So I made a flip box today and took some pics as I sent along. The idea was to make it as cheap as I could... came to £13.86 and took 39 mins according to the timestamps on my pictures. Here's the finished flip box. The relay could handle 30A @ 240V (7200W max) but a single UK socket is only...

Can cold water temps kill your microherd?

Nah, they'll slow down but they won't die off completely. Consider your fridge. Typically it's at 40F and the food you put in there lasts longer without spoiling because bacteria slow down... but eventually the food still spoils. It just takes longer because the bacteria were slowed by the cool...

Help! I cut one of my main colas!

Heh, well you've taped it well up so you've given it a good chance. It's not droopy yet. So you've got hope :) Don't mess with it now. Just wait it out and see what happens. I've snapped stems almost in half, taped them back up and had the fan leaf above droop and fall off but then main top...

    State Trooper let me go

Sometimes you get lucky. I was stopped speeding a few months back... he apparently clocked me at 102mph (164kph) on the motorway as I was on my way to work and running late due to an accident I'd got caught behind. Over 100mph here is supposed to get you disqualification from driving as a...

    Spider Mites … or Spiders?

Doesn't look like typical spider mite webs. You've search for spider mites and found none. As you say the plant is in a spidery garden... most likely explanation is that it's just spiders. Probably worth checking regularly just in case.

What kind of budget do I need for Indoor Growing?

Things would grow perfectly fine in that setup. 60x60cm tent, 250w HPS, 6 inch carbon filter and fan... You'd probably get around 100-200g of bud in 9-10 weeks from having the clones planted. Slightly longer if you're starting from seed. Search for 2L SOG grows to get an idea of what's possible...

What kind of budget do I need for Indoor Growing?

Lol this is an unanswerable question without any specifics. What size area are we talking about? How much lighting are we talking? You could do a 15 plant SOG in a 60x60 area under a 250w HPS using 2L coke bottles and it would cost about $200-300 for everything.

My first crisis, not sure what to do..

Firstly chill out. Next calibrate your pH meter with the 7.0 solution you have. Then order yourself another cheapo ph pen off ebay as a backup. They're about 5 bucks and worth having one for peace of mind. Could be calcium deficiency what is your water ppm before adding anything? You might...

Cloning and picking mothers in early veg

This is slightly controversial. DJ Short says the most important thing for him is that it needs to pass the smoke test before he'll select a plant. Have a look from 11:00 in this vid (the whole vid is worth watching if you want to know more about how breeders select their plants): Just a...

    Reverse Engineering everyone's nutrients

If you're just using it for this then you don't need much volume. The cheapest 4 stage filter off eBay would be perfect. If you have other plans for your RO water such as using it to water all your plants then you'll need something better.

    Mother plants

Take those thoughts of Mum's in DWC out of your head right now! Way too fragile to maintain for months/years without any disasters. You want to be able to forget about Mum's for a week or 2, come back and see they're still pumping out new clones. Soil is perfect. But I went with Autopots...

Tried to search got too many results... So, quick question...

Had to Google SIP. It appears to be very similar to Hempy in that you use a reservoir topped up regularly with the medium wicking up water/nutes. Hempy is cheaper and simpler by orders of magnitude. You could run 3 gallon $1 buckets with a hole, filled with perlite/vermiculite mix and they'd be...

"Three A Light" - Seen in HighTimes mag.. Claims 3 pounds per light?!

Interesting video. My observations... they appear to be growing in 5 gallon buckets, perlite + vermiculte or coco (can't tell from the images). Are they doing flood and drain? I'm a sad soul so I counted the number of day/night cycles and what they seemed to do at certain points: 1. Start...

It's great that you have all those plans. You've obviously been doing some reading... but... chill out and take stock of your situation. Extra CO2 is not needed. Your plants have problems. Turn it off and forget about it until you have everything dialled in perfectly and co2 is limiting your...
