Max PPF/PPFD with and without Co2

Not controversial. This paper shows that with any canopy temp (20-40C) net photosynthesis increases upto a ppfd of 1500 umol/m2/s. That is without CO2. Overall highest net photosynthesis occurs at 30C and 1500 umol/m2/s ppfd.

    COB Nutrient differences.

You are wrong. Calcium uptake in roots and transport up the plant is mediated by Calcium ATPases and Hydrogen/Calcium antiporters. This is not a passive process(1,2). Period. Read your post again in that context and consider how you come across. 1. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15961895...

help with flipping diy led rooms

I made a flip box for my DIY lights. Cost me under 15 bucks and an hour of my time. It is rated to handle 3000w per side (that is the max a UK mains socket is rated at, the relay controlling the flip is rated at 7000w) https://www.rollitup.org/t/cheap-diy-flip-box.913197/

    Bottom-feeding coco - EC suggestions?

To flush or not to flush... That is the question! My thoughts are flushing with plain water is cheaper than running nutrients. People are also happier knowing their weed was flushed (whatever that means to them). Does it make any difference to quality? Possibly, possibly not, there is no...

    Bottom-feeding coco - EC suggestions?

I would just go with 1000 us/cm all through the grow. Coco will accumulate nutrients over time and not release them in runoff. You can easily get burn and not realise what's going in. I grow my plants in perlite/vermiculite hempies (which are similar to your bottom fed passive hydro) and...

Plant stopped growing in veg phase, time to switch to flower?

Your plant has stopped growing which indicates something is wrong. Now is NOT the best time to flip to flower. Figure out what's wrong, fix it, when it's growing well again then flip. If you flip now when growth has stopped you will regret it.

Any one using SwiftAir fans ? i am look at one now 6" in line looks like good deal

I'm running 3 RVKs, 1 Rhino and 1 SwiftAir. The SwiftAir is fine IMO. Blows plenty of air but also my loudest fan. I have all my fans hooked up to variacs so it's not an issue but you should be aware they're not exactly quiet. I'd happily buy one again.

    What did you accomplish today?

I've had a check engine light on one of my cars for a few months. Checked it out with an OBD reader and knew it was an O2 sensor at the back of the engine. Really didn't fancy changing it as it's at the back of the engine and most people recommend removing the intake manifold for access. As this...

New Loft Grow Room - Input Appreciated

I'd say the plants get set back 3-5 days in early flower. We all know early flower is when they stretch so you end up with significantly smaller plants if they're quick flowering (strains that only stretch for 18-21 days). Longer flowering strains that stretch for 28 days can still recover size...

New Loft Grow Room - Input Appreciated

Defoliation definitely got rid of any smaller undeveloped bud sites. Everything has come up the same size all over the plants which will help hand trimming massively. Defoliation definitely set the plants back significantly in terms of overall plant size. If you can veg for 6-8 weeks and you...

    any recommendations for lung cancer?

Lets be realistic. It ain't gonna cure his lung cancer but it might provide some relief for his symptoms (pain and appetite especially). If he wanted to give something a try I'd skip anything smoked as he will unfortunately become breathless from the lung cancer and smoking will only make that...

New Loft Grow Room - Input Appreciated

I just went and took some pics... damn peer pressure! Here's a shot of Purple Afghan Kush at 37 days: Here's a trichome shot with my new macro lens... I've been lusting over a proper macro lens for about 4 years, finally caved in last week! Gotta love new toys :D Here's the Viper...

New Loft Grow Room - Input Appreciated

Hi :D Lol! All is well here :) First grow totals were: Purple Afghan Kush 352g (4 plants) Pineapple Express 617g (4 plants) Blueberry 359g (2 plants) Viper Cookies 751g (6 plants) Total: 2079g from 2400w = 0.87gpw I had thought it was only roughly 1800g, but I had counted the total up wrong...

Struggling with cloning - need 30-60 per month

Adding some calcium hypochlorite (pool shock) seemed to work fine for me. I had a problem with slime in DWC (gave up on it in the end) and am certain my aerocloner is innoculated. With calcium hypochlorite at 2-4ppm I have had no rooting issues in the aerocloner and have been reusing neoprene...

    Will it be ready by

It'll take about 3 weeks to start flowering. It'll then take another 7-8 weeks at least for the flowers to mature properly. You're typically looking at 10 weeks (70 days) as a minimum. I ran a fast flowering auto that I got as a freebie. It was supposed to be ready in 45-55 days... I harvested...

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

As someone who has run into this issue in a small water loop (alu rad, copper blocks, distilled water) I can tell you that's not always true. Within 6-8 months I saw corrosion inside my loop. There are loads of reports on the net of the same thing happening to others. Sure you might get...

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

Caution: don't mix metals in your water loop. They will corrode over time and potentially gum up the system. If your water blocks are copper your radiator should be copper too. Titanium is also acceptable which is why it's used in chiller heat exchangers.

Growing under led Flood lights in 2016

Can't say I agree with this. Sure price does not always correlate with quality but "a cob is a cob is a cob" is just rubbish. A COB is just an array of LEDs all on 1 chip. If the diodes used are crap then the whole COB will be crap. If the diodes uses are good then the whole thing will be good...

Growing under led Flood lights in 2016

The no name COBs in these lights are advertised at 80-90lm/watt. You'd be better off with HPS or branded chips. Having said that they would grow well, just not as efficient as alternatives.
