I know i haven't over done it with the calmag so there shouldn't be a lockout, think you could be right with lack of N, using shogun terra

I've ran 20/25L pots before and there's not enough veg time to fill them out properly for full rootmass, waste of money and soil imo. I've ran 3.8L before and pulled 5oz per plant, ran 11L before in coco and pulled 12z per plant.
