I always used 1/2 gallon with 5 gallon. I’ve been using a gallon for a 15 gallon every other day.

I use citric acid you can buy at any grocery store in the canning section. Used it for years. A little less than a 1/4 tsp per gallon gets you from 8 to 6.5. My water is right at 8.

What lusidghost said. HPS will eat you alive in electricity and trying to control heat, although I can’t speak from experience on heat control with the hlg 650r
