    Companion planting

I was told about the fishing line but my aunt said they will walk through it. She said they did that to the electric fence wire more than a few times. I may just try a little of everything. do some blood meal, some hair, and the fence. The place will smell like a chinese work camp . . . May try...

    Companion planting

I'm hoping that JS (JADAM Sulfur) will deter them. If not I'll make JWA Jad . . Wetting Agent with hot pepper oil. My best friend has a hard on for growing super hot peppers. I just have to make it until I can get my chems made. Any advice to keep deer away? I heard they are repelled by the...

Do your research into that you war planting though. Plants like mint and lemon balm can take over a space making it hard to get some small plants/seedlings going.

There is always the classic book Carrots love Tomatoes. Every plant will have a different effect on your ladies. I have Diakon and Scarlet Rose radish in two pots along with crimson clover (which is an annual, that means only once), snap peas of differing kinds, fenugreek, sage, parsley, and...

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

I was speaking to preserving meats. I know how to ferment things. I have fridges of lacto veg. I'll stick to drying for my meat preservation.

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

If you use the right amount of salt, only the correct microbes grow (country ham, or other dried hung sausages). Labs in perticular with meat? I wonder, do you have any links?

    Raw soybean meal?

I work for a feed mill in the MidWest US. Most of my amendments (kelp meal, alfa meal, ect) are as cheap as you will find em'. The JADAM chems are being sourced from a pool chem supply house. Soybean meal is aboot' 24 bucks per 50 lbs (22.4 Kgs) cuz feed is going up up up . . . A quick list...

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

I agree it would be a difficult thing to sustainably run and not destroy everyone's crops in the process. I have the book on herbal and healing beers and brews. I think I may try to ferment some of the biomass from my hemp this year and see what may come of it. As far as my onion wine, it was a...

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

I was speaking to sources that could be added to things with low sugar content. I was aware of barley and alpha and beta amilase. Malted barley and SST's for sure. Honey has analgiesic properties (anti-microbial) so honey isn't something I've messed with. I've made many ferments even onion...

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

I'm just sayin' if I were on Alone and wanted a brew. . . How did they ferment things into wines and beers before they had sugar available? Gotta figure work arounds out. Don't count on things always being available all the time or that their costs will not go up. And yes, yes I am High . . .

High quality compost, easier said than done.

Having a worm box is different than johnson bio reactors. Both may have worms but one is a sustainable and harvestable set up. The other is a way to compost just about any material without having to turn it. Products are different. Same with things put through Pyrolysis (bio-char, certain...

    Big Bug Question?/! Subject: Aphids

Please correct me if I am wrong but Aphids excrete "Honeydew" correct? I know it can be used as a natural sweetener/sugar source. I had messed with the concept with wildcrafting brews. How hard would it be to "Farm" Aphids to produce excrement en-mass (like frass for fert)? They don't sting like...

High quality compost, easier said than done.

I've gardened for ten years both indoor and out. I agree you can learn both ways. My first run ever was on first run living soil. Steeep learning curve!! I will say hemp/cannabis is just like growing an Heirloom tomato indoors (did this). They are just as finikey and particular. BTW you get...

Human poop and urine, perfect nutriment?

It's not as if I don't have my concerns. I know there is definitely knowledge and historical facts that have been hidden and stricken from easily found records. I am Pharma free and in the best health of my life and I'm 38 this year. Keto for me. If you make sure things have been composted and...

Human poop and urine, perfect nutriment?

My main goal is to find a closed loop solution. I am also seeing what size garden is possible by only manual means for 95% of functions. Also cost is huge! I will be making some JADAM amendments soon. I figure I might want to make a serious effort if this can prove to be financially sustainable.
