It depends a lot on the mother too, and her vegetative growth habits and how easily she clones. Some will bonsai nicely if that's your thing, but others might be far too lanky and finicky to do that. How many moms are you thinking of keeping?

Hydro works best running all the same strain, or even better, all the same cut in a run. Shared DWC or RDWC setups are not really designed for handling different plants with different requirements. Even DTW is better suited running all the same plant.

From what you're saying, it sounds like you're doing things right. Have different strains all had this same problem for you? Drying time and terp retention will vary between different cultivars.
