Spider Farmer led grow light--less watts, more light

LED's have came a long way since they first came out.. It' s starting to get very tempting to get this old dog to change from HID's.. The initial investment tho is a bit out of budget with everything I have going on right now.. Maybe one day I can clear up some space in the budget and convert...

    Looking for A Good Soil

Needless to say if you are married with kids, this is not a wise project to bring to your wife.. "Hey baby I just spent over 1200+ on dirt" "UMM YOU DID WHAT!"

    Looking for A Good Soil

I made my own soil this last spring... I made thousands of gallons, but I redid my outside garden completely and it takes a lot of soil to fill 16ft long beds that are over 4ft deep.

    Looking for A Good Soil

You can make your own soil but it requires a few things.. My soil would probably be too much for what you need, but you could adjust the ratios.. Something like.. 1 bale of Soil less mix "pro mix, sunshine, nutri plus, there are several. "should have lime in it, if not then its probably...

Pro Mix is not a soil.. Its a soil less base.. It is peat moss, perlite, lime and wetting agent.. To make this a soil you need to add things to it.

    Need help with compost recipe

A ratio of 1 part green to 3 parts brown is around the right mix.. Stick with this ratio, turn your compost...

    Need help with compost recipe

Key to good compost is airing it out.. Turn your compost pile on a regular, this will help it break down faster and help prevent it from turning sour.

    Need help with compost recipe

You dont need all that extra stuff really.. A good source of greens, and a lot of browns is all you need. You can even use alfalfa pellets and hardwood chip pellets "not the bbq pellets".

I can say over the years, I have used mollases and sometimes Ive been lazy and just didnt use it.. Call it a placebo effect but I feel like there is a bit more perk in the plants when I do weekly waters and compost teas with blackstrap.

Yeah that seems to be around the time I started using it, mid 2000s sounds about the time Bud Candy was everyone's "must have".

It's good to see someone is doing a run on this, I already know the molasses will be helpful but it will be nice to see this in a side by side.

I started using blackstrap back when bud candy was such a huge fad, not saying blackstrap is bud candy but I just started using it back then and it's became something I use all the time. I go through one of those bulk barn cups every week.. usually costs about 4 buxs or so.
