IMO, 3g is a little more difficult with an amended soil, they need fed a bit more along the way. I've had problems when using smaller than 7g with organics, it's doable but sometimes the plants struggle. 5g would be the minimum for me.

I agree. I amend my soils, cook them and add very little besides teas/molasses along the way.

I used these Homer buckets years before switching to bags. Never a problem, never painted. I've also used square 4g whites with no problems.
