    Question about curing process.

I've been growing for a long time and don't like being told I'm wrong by some newby. I post mostly to help new growers get started. If you don't agree with my posts you have to come up with something more substantive than "....most of your post is wrong". So put up (a defense) or shut up...

    Question about curing process.

Drying/curing is a two-part procedure. The drying is to remove most of the moisture and the curing makes sure the remaining moisture is distributed evenly throughout the bag. Leave your product exposed and uncovered until is starts to get crispy. Don't let it get so dry that you can rub a small...

    Southern ontario outdoor

When moving an indoor plant outside it is a good idea to keep handy some way to help warm the plants. I'm in northern Michigan and I used a plastic laundry basket where I stapled clear plastic film to the inside of the basket. In an emergency I was thinking I could use a regular 40-gallon trash...

Three Plants - 3.5 gal tub, 2'x2'x4' tent. Too crowded?

For future reference - my perpetual grow has 4 square feet of floor space for flowering as compared to one square foot per plant for vegging. I'm growing short bushy indicas with 5 week veg and 7 week flowering. At 5 weeks vegging plants are 20-24 inches tall. Good luck, BigSteve.

    Newbie. Looking for any tips!

I'ze curious as to your 90 veg cycle. My indicas spend 5 weeks in the veg room(400W HPS) then 7 weeks (1000W HPS) to flower. Total of 12 weeks and/or 84 days. Is there a reason you picked such a long veg period? Here's why I asked----- From all my experimenting and talking to others I'm...

    Newbie. Looking for any tips!

You may be a newby time-wise but your material list suggests a more advanced grower. I noticed you got 3 groups of 11 plants each. Sounds like some sort of experiment with soil types? With your advanced supplies and knowledge the only thing I can suggest off the top of my head is to make...

    Ok newbie here

I keep a 20-inch boxfan wedged in the doorway to my flower room. I can adjust temps by reversing the fan from "blow" to "suck" mode. Same idea with the humidity. You can regulate RH by increasing/decreasing the air flow. Good luck, BigSteve.

    cannabis guide (macomb, MI area)

I retired from UCLA and moved to Michigan to buy a house. Cost of living is much cheaper here in Michigan. I was paying $1100 a month to rent a second-floor 2 bedroom apt in Glendale/Burbank. My mortage for a 2 bedroom house with lake priviledges is less than half of the rent I was paying. Come...

    Strain Advice

Fat Freddie - 1968 - "dope will get you through times of no money better than money getting you through times of no dope". Thanks for the flashback, eh? The 'correct" answer to your question really depends on your future growing plans. I'd say most of the guys here have got some kind of...

    Seed starting problems!!!

Just make sure the humidity inside the dome is as close to 100% as you can make it. You should see condensation running down the inside of the dome at all times. Good luck, BigSteve.

Do you harvest the whole plant at once??

There is one major reason to harvest all at once -- small buds start to droop the minute they are cut from the plant. Drooping makes it much harder to properly trim the plant. I sit at the counter with a plant, pot and all, sitting next to me. I keep a trash can for trimmed material between me...

    Question about dispensaries

The unit most legal dispensaries use is 3.5 grams or an eighth of an ounce. We have a discount dispensary here in Michigan that has been spamming me with ads for eights for $50-60 per. Close to street prices. Most states require legal sellers to document where they get their shit. Do you want...

What area does one 600w HPS cover?

Somewhere between 4 x 4 and 5 x 5 square feet. My 1000W bulb is rated up to 8 x 8 feet. Good luck, BigSteve.

DNA Genetics - Limited Collection - Kush Dream grow - doesn't get better than this

I've never seen so few yellow leaves from that many (mostly) mature plants. Whatever you are doing, keep it up! Good work, BigSteve.

When should I transplant?? - Solo Cups to Pots

Even solo cups need drainage holes, eh? Seedling roots grow about as fast as the biggest leaves. So if you look straight down at a plant you want to see the larger leaves growing past the rim of the cup/pot. Yours appear good to go. I would wait another week myself as the plants will get...

Starting purpetual grow for personal medicine

I have had a perpetual grow going for years. Here's my input. Don't let anyone tell you what to grow. You are the one putting out the funds and taking the risks that go with being a grower. Having said that, charge them $200 per month to grow their favorites. You will nee just about 4 square...

Easy things to do with trim?

I'm just finishing my fifth quart mason jar of trim. I get 3-5 teaspoons of trim per plant so my 5 quarts represents 4 or 5 years of accumulation. It is a bit harsh to smoke but is very stony. BigSteve.
