Thanks for the advise, I take a test every morning, do you think I should do one just before bed as well? I keep a detailed list of both the PH and the PPM every day on a sheet. Problem is I do work on the road at times, so I can miss several week days for the weeks records

Ok so for easy math if my res was 10 g and there ppm was 1000 from start, and they drank a gallon and my ppm had dropped to 900 in the 9 gallon res, they would have drank and ate 10 %, so I should try to get it back up to the 1000 mark when. I add my 1 gallon since I see they would have eaten...
