    DIY with Quantum Boards

When doing a DIY project, you need to gather information first, about the components you want to use. If you had actually read the specs of the QB96, you would have known that the driver you posted cannot be used. Unless you want to burn your house down..... don't be messing with electronics if...

I've been running QB's since they were released and I replaced all my former lighting with them except for one COB light. I've been so pleased with them and with HLG's customer service, you couldn't give me another light!

Yes that's right, about a 5% difference between the 561C and the 301b, yet still about 7% more efficient than most COB.

If you'd actually red the thread, you'd have seen that HLG has their own manufacturing facility. They started out with boards THEY designed and test, then had built in China to their specs. They didn't just slap some chips on a board, they spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on this...

Sound more like you didn't want to hear you made a mistake.... there was nothing wrong with his response. And people shouldn't be anything less than blunt when trying to help someone prevent a potentially dangerous situation. But hey, it's your home and family at risk so have it your way!

Run more QBs at lower power! Below 70 watts, you don't even need heatsinks! I'm eventually building a 9 board light for SCROG run at 50 watts per board.

Cobs work well, QBs however, are more efficient and they weight much less even with a heatsink. Add to that, they save 4 inches of headroom in a tent, and that can matter depending whit you grow. That said, my COB light has given me excellent results. Going to give the COB light to a friend...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I've replaced most of my lights with Quantum Boards from HLG. I cut my power consumption in 1/2 and increased my harvest. I still have one COB light but I'll be replacing that soon also. QBs give me more headroom over cobs.
