I don't know much on canna soil but you either have toxicity or deficiency. If your soil is hot then I'd say it looks like they have adequate nutes for now. When you see deficiency on new growth that's usually an easy sign to needing nutes. (Your new growth looks pretty healthy) Sent from...

You gotta post pictures. . Words don't do enough. I've heard mg causes a certain taste with bud but I'm not saying it's 100%.. I'd look up genetics and see if they're from the same parent etc. As far as soil goes I've never seen people really recommend using the same soil over and over again...
