I always rinsed my coco too, I’d rinse it until my ppm were less than 250 ppm, then I’d let it soak with ca and mg enriched water for a while. Then rinse until my runoff was less than 250 ppm and then it was good to use.

Your plants are needing more K. If your using epsom stop, add K. Leaf edges look burnt and curled leaf tips are K deficiency

It was most likely from low temps or a deficiency in phosphorus if your running into this issue

I’d be careful with adding epsom, if you have it already in your water you could add a k deficiency. All I see is a nitrogen deficiency, no sign of p deciciency. Some 4-4-4 should work well enough

I’ve mixed soil and coco before, it’s ok to do that but you’ll have to make sure to rinse the coco and soak it with ca and mg prior to putting in soil. Those plants are hungry, see a deficiency in N and K, possibly more. It’s too late to revive them, but just ride it out.

Silt wicks the best, your looking for a sip, for the wick just use soil that dips into the reservoir. Keep wick to 10% area of your pot. Look up sips and you’ll find what your looking for.

I like your setup!! Double functioning devices are always a win. I agree the cbd is going to be way more subtle so it’s going to be a bit more difficult to assess. Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated and I learned something new.
