Thermal Grease or Permanent Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive ?

There's a pretty big difference, ime. I think grease is good enough for 3W LED's and stuff, adhesive seems like overkill to me, especially if you plan to be performing repairs/upgrades later on. Any of the multichip LED's really deserve the expensive stuff, though, imo.

    Future of LED Lights

Sounds pretty cool. I wonder how this would translate for us growers, though. It mentions LED efficiency at higher wattages, but not LED efficiency as a whole. So, let's say a 30W chip was produced. Would this be any more efficient (or cheaper) than ten 3W LED's? I won't hold my breath, but...

is this a good color blend for a full spectrum

Efficient? Yeah, LED's and CFL are both relatively efficient light sources. Not sure you need those Blue's in your LED spectrum. All those CFL's (and your White LED's) should cover your needs. Tbh, with that much CFL light I'm not sure you need any White/Blue at all from the LED's, you could go...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Interesting. I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip. Nope, no typo. Temps in the veg tent were 100 for a few hours yesterday. We had a high of 67 around here and my grow room is right over the garage so I see large swings between summer and winter temps. It gets warmest and coolest where I'm at...

I suppose I could use a Brita filter and just filter tap water with that. Probably not a huge difference, but pH should be a tad bit lower that way. I figured my Super Soil would fix the pH of the distilled water right quick, so I never even worried out it. You mean like an air pump? Those...

75w chips. Anyone try um yet?

Check my sig. There's a fellow member growing tomatoes and various herbs with a very similar panel. Skip to the last three pages or so for unboxing, lights-on shots, and some photos of his plants. VanQ is another company that specializes in these types of multichip LED's. They even sell the LED...

Wow, your girls are beautiful. Nice job, thus far, man. Good Lord, they are hairy, and those roots look delicious. Argh. I'll just cut them then. Not a big deal, there's a lot of other tomatoes that look fine. The pH going in, or coming out? I'm using distilled water. I had been watering...

Nope, no calculations, no pH/ppm testing. Just tossed a bunch of ferts into the soil when I transplanted. Azomite, Dolomite, Rock Phosphate, Green Sand, Bone Meal, worm castings, and high P bat guano off the top of my head. Apart from the burn, which never really got out of control and seems to...

I've been watering Kid pretty much everyday because it seemed to be what he liked. Just a full soil soak. I noticed some Purple splotches on his leaves, though, which means P deficiency. I read that over watering can inhibit the mobility of P so I decided to change my watering regimen and see...

Update. I had no luck with the diffusive films. Screw it! I'm done! It's made. I've actually been using it for a couple weeks I think, and Kid seems to absolutely love it. The mixing chamber and RP lens both get pretty hot, so we'll see if I run into issues with those. That's not the color of...

When I took Misty out of the soil the bottom of the stem was dry and kind of hard. I got her from the top of Little Chiesel and I only wanted to cut so much off, so it actually didn't extend too far into the yogurt container, it was maybe halfway into it which was too shallow. I think this was...

anyone tried the 50 watt led flood lights ?

It's not out of control, and most of it goes to the heat sink so it isn't beamed into your plant canopy. The driver puts off a good amount of heat, though, so plan on keeping that somewhat remote if you're worried about it. It's sort of relative, it depends on how big the grow space is and what...

Whoa, those plants look Brown. Kinda cool. Ack. I should probably update, too, though. Here we go. So remember I tried FIM'ing and I said I thought I basically topped one of the heads? Well I couldn't have been more wrong, that seems to be the one that actually took, and boy it's ugly. I took...

fun with smd led strips (5630 and 5050) - in preparation for the 'bucket of light'

250W over like a 1'x1' area, right? Not to get too technical on y'all, but that's like.. a shit-ton, no?

What led is best value for small grow

Yea, I say cut the male flowers and hope for the best. There's always a chance she'll turn around and decide to sprout 100% pistils after a certain point. GL

Tried again with the WhiteOptics film just because I have so much of it, this time with the bake setting. Film starts to look sweaty, but there's no way in hell a regular household vacuum could have enough suction to form this film at this point. I slowly heated up another piece past the point...

    The ULTIMATE Flowering Spectrum

Not sure, I pulled it from Google images ("light emitting plasma spectral" is what I typed in). I'm rather positive, however, that it corresponds to the Gavita Pro 300. Some of the Philips CDM bulbs have REALLY nice looking spectral qualities, too, and should penetrate just as well as their...

Aloe vera juice can increase a plant's defense mechanisms and vigor. Maybe mix a tiny bit in with her water. Also, I heard baking soda mixed with water and vegetable oil can be used as a foliar spray for certain problems. I don't know what Juliet's caught, but maybe these two methods can help...
