I would suspect that shortening the hours in the day will affect their growth overall... but maybe if you continued to do it for several generations they might pass down some genetics to deal with it? Would be interesting to see... making faster growing plants would help everyone.

Yeh i suppose because i haven't seen them first hand yet that i wouldn't know what to look for, but everyone says they form way before pistils so they must be easy to spot. Good news though, just checked the 2nd plant and i see pistils and no balls, two females :D

I've read that you should only trim the leaves that are directly blocking your buds, which shouldn't be that many anyway.. and i think your better off doing it at a later stage?
