Could be wrong, but aren't the 1818s better? You should also get 3500k. The 4000k's close, but I don't think I'd use the 6500k. It won't be necessary to get that spectrum thing like with MH/HPS down pat when you have COBs. They're pretty intense and work for both stages. I use 3500k (warm white.) Not trying to tell you what to do, though.

Looking now the CWL VegMaster is closer to the 3500k than the 4000k, also can use this light for flowering if anything :)
In regards to Bud factor x I think you might want to take at this link. I am sure there is magnesium in it, but the main active ingredient is chitosan. ..it is not written on the packaging anywhere...I just did a search on DIY Bud Factor X and they talk about this "secret" ingredients in the following link, I was just wondering if you knew the concentration the recipe they suggest.https://youtu.be/pKJHTNY-j38
Hi I read an Old Post of yours and you basically said that you could reproduce any product of the advanced nutrients line up. I was curious about Bud factor x. I've seen the video that says university studies get good results at 37.5 grams per gallon but do you know if that's concentrated strength? Should it be used like Advanced Nutrients suggest at that concentration? Thanks in advance, no pun intended LOL!

Bud Factor X is magnesium sulfate, same stuff you can buy in the pharmacy section of your grocery store. I use 1g/gallon.

No chitosan? I was under the impression that that was the active ingredient.

Maybe they added it later, but nutrient companies love to point at their additives to distract their customers from how badly they're being ripped off. Bottom line? Get some epsom salt lol
Money is numbers and numbers never end, if it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end.
Not sure how to private message on this site. Was curious if you could help me with a few questions I have on cob. I run a 4x8 area so I figure I'll need to make a 32 cob fixture with a light every Sqft. That will run about 800 watts at the wall I'm thinking. Should I add additional lights to the bottom of the wall to get better par in the middle of the plant or would that be over kill?

Hi ! I am looking information about the way, how could I clapped dimmable cables in meanwell drivers "B" version. I have 8 320-1050B. and on each soldered dimmer`s. But I want to get extra watt. So I saw, that you told to people clapped b drivers for extrs power. But It was my first build, and I never tried to put clap on that cables. That`s all I`ve got to do, for getting a little prize out of it?
My friend is running 3k hps in 3 tents (2) 5x5's, and one 4x4. He also has a 4 x 4 mother/veg closet. Would love to hear what you would suggest as an upgrade on the lighting.

I'd suggest Johnson Grow Lights' Maximizer. I happen to know he's pricing the new versions very aggressively vs the older units. Hit him up!
And i truly respect/appreciate your advice.

If you say the extra $$s are well worth it then i believe you. Just gotta find the extra $s now...lol

Light for your special crop shouldn't be treated as a lowest cost option kind of decision. You'll love those for years, I promise.
The Maximizers.... what are the advantages of those over the cx9s?

I see they are 3590s...a bit more draw at the wall and duct cooled... is it spectrum or coverage or...?

Quality components in this case make for a fixture with both great spectrum and high performance. You asked me what I'd buy for your situation, that's my recommendation.
Hey tty... getti g ready to pull the trigger on COBs. Have my eye on the Johnson CX-9 3070s and the Timber light 3590s DIY kits...

Wondering what you might suggest? (For a 4x8 space)

Consider two Johnson Grow Lights Maximizer lights. They'll do great over 4x4 to 5x5 each, so two would kill it in that space.
