seems like HTG is shut down for the time being, and was wondering if there were any alternatives for a 250 watt magnetic ballast light kit HPS. HTG has their own going for around 117, complete with the ballast, reflector and bulb. Are there any other sites that can compete with this? Or...

where can i get these ceramic metal halide bulbs, and will they run fine on a HTG supply magnetic ballast? Do i need a special base for it, or will it run fine with a mogul base.

Is there a reason HIDhut doesn't make 250 watt ballast systems? I see 150 to 1000, and all the in between, except 250. I'm really in the market for a 250 and they seem to have great prices, especially since they're digital. :(

but what about the quieter and cooler part? Do the digital ballasts actually run quieter and cooler than their magnetic counterparts? Heat is an issue for me, and if it's significantly cooler, i may have to go that route. The price difference between the digital and magnetic is around 70...

idk. i konw that Mh ballast and HPS ballasts are similar though, so it might work. But i'm more interested in how much wattage it will use. If it's going to use 400 watts to power a 250 watt bulb, and have the extra 150 go to waste as heat, then i might as well jus use a 400 watt bulb.

i was thinking about jus gettig the highest wattage ballast i can find and just alternating wattage to fit my electricity bills. Because a 400 hps ballast is like 30 dollars more expensive than a 150 watter. So it'd seem better idea to jus get the 400 and use a lesser watt bulb if it was the same

One 46-watt CFL will be okay for one plant indoor flowering? What?? Have you ever done this? If so, can u post some pics of it? There's no way that's true. Maybe if you were growing a plant that would reach like 7 inches tops.

i'd assume bad genetics. is that a particular strain or jus bag seed?
