If I can't buy it at the grocery store, Home Depot or Lowes, Amazon or a local retailer, I don't need it. I hate all the stores like Walmart, Target...etc. I openly admit to buying vast quantities of meaty goodness and other supplies at Sam's Club. I would consider Costco if there was one near me, but I've been in their meat dept and it sucks compared to Sams.

True Angus ribeyes for $6.99/lb when the other stores are $9.99/lb, babyback rib cryopacks, chicken tenderloins dirt cheap, too many deals to list.

sam's club is part of the walmart conglomerate.

home depot and lowes are also Big Box Dominators.

target is not a clone of wal-mart. they treat their employees far better and pay better too.

after my time at the oars on the Walmart Galley, i swam to shore for a gig at target for $2 more / hour, better hours and much better bosses.

I don't avoid Walmart, Target over any philosophical differences, I just hate their stores. I made my living in sales/sales training and to be quite honest, their employees are overpaid if you go by helpfulness and product knowledge. Same goes with most of the "clerks" at Best Buy. They're good for ringing up your purchase, but not for much else. Minimum wage is what they're paid and that's the level of salesmanship they offer in return.

So, I do my own research and buy online. Apple is one of the few retailers that still employs actual salesman, even if they're not on commission (heinous & criminal).

Salespeople at any store that actually know anything are rare indeed. I don't think anyone in the public actually expects a Wal Mart worker to be able to give any details of a product other than what color it is. I expect them to stand around talking to each other, working slowly, not giving a shit about the customer, not being able to ring up items that might include a serial number input or authorization code. God forbid you should buy a product with a plastic death trap alarm on it. Watching the employee maim himself trying to manipulate some magnetic latch deep inside with a tool most certainly engineered by NASA scientists gave me great pains to watch.
