You shit standing?I fucking love my Macbook Air. My wiggling fingers earn me business, which in turn earns me money. I don't sit all day, I get up to get coffee or take a shit. Personally I don't give a fuck that a CEO makes that kind of money, good for them. But if it is at the expense of others, like Wal-Mart employees having to hold food drives so the employees can eat at night, I have a serious problem with that. Not because it affects me personally, but I hold a general sense of concern for the well being of others, something you obvious lack.
NCR cash registers have a sticker on them that says "Made in the U.S.A." The sticker is the only part made in the USA.If you have anything in your house that says Made In China, not only are you a hypocrite but you are a Commi-bastard, who potentially is a national security threat, helping fund the Communist nation of China. Makes sense right?
You bring up a good point. One that I find very disturbing that no law has been written to amend what is currently standard.NCR cash registers have a sticker on them that says "Made in the U.S.A." The sticker is the only part made in the USA.
"Slave labor"? Really?somehow just somehow, i think wal-mart can afford it..see ex-ceo his job, his one AND only job..the earnings call to report how many pennies they squeezed per share off slave labor the previous quarter..this is true of most every publicly traded company out there..
what kind of conditions do you think the products they purchase are produced under?"Slave labor"? Really?
Walmart employs several million. Oprah employs, what, a couple dozen?no? here's a word: Oprah Winfrey: World's greatest boss? For the second time in recent years, she's making a strong case for that title by taking her entire staff and their families on vacation. This time they're going on a lavish Mediterranean cruise. Winfrey and her staff will leave Chicago on Saturday. The cruise ship will stop in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Malta. She is covering transportation, food, drinks and activities at port stops. In 2005, Winfrey celebrated the end of her "Wildest Dreams" season by surprising her staff with an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii. According to Chicago-based Best Travel, a cruise like the one Winfrey is taking her staff on costs about $5,400 a person. http://blogs.suntimes.com/oprah/2009/06/oprah_winfrey_worlds_greatest.html

WASHINGTON -- The federal agency that enforces labor law said Monday it has decided to pursue charges against Walmart for threatening and punishing workers who planned to go on strike last year."Slave labor"? Really?
when you sign on for employement with wal mart you sign a CONTRACT declaring you will not participate in union organizing, participate in strikes, walkouts or other union related activities, and if you do, then you will be SACKEDWASHINGTON -- The federal agency that enforces labor law said Monday it has decided to pursue charges against Walmart for threatening and punishing workers who planned to go on strike last year.
According to officials at the National Labor Relations Board, the agency's general counsel investigated and "found merit" in workers' claims that Walmart "unlawfully threatened" employees for taking part in walkouts surrounding last year's Black Friday shopping season. The agency said that Walmart intimidated, surveilled or punished workers in 14 different states, violating U.S. labor law.

I have never set foot in one, never will. I drive by two walmarts on my way to Costco. You guys should stop buying things from Wal Mart if you are REALLY serious.
done years ago.You guys should stop buying things from Wal Mart if you are REALLY serious.
stockholm syndrome.when you sign on for employement with wal mart you sign a CONTRACT declaring you will not participate in union organizing, participate in strikes, walkouts or other union related activities, and if you do, then you will be SACKED
the "threats and surveilance" is simple enforcement of that contract. if a wal mart employee is suspected of spreading union literature to other employees he will be watched, of course. warned if he is found with union shit, and shitcanned if he persists.
THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL.
