when you sign on for employement with wal mart you sign a CONTRACT declaring you will not participate in union organizing, participate in strikes, walkouts or other union related activities, and if you do, then you will be SACKED

the "threats and surveilance" is simple enforcement of that contract. if a wal mart employee is suspected of spreading union literature to other employees he will be watched, of course. warned if he is found with union shit, and shitcanned if he persists.
