No winners and losers eh? So the government is not supposed to award multi-billion dollar contracts to aircraft and ship manufacturers? How exactly does that work in the real world?
And how do we compete as a nation on the global front when most of the other countries ARE "picking winners and losers" and backing the industries they feel will win - like China is backing solar and Germany is backing wind. But our industries are supposed to compete along and unassisted with those other countries.
The point is that if we don't have, and assist our government in "picking winners" then the country itself will be the loser.
