I've been to cop bars. They really really like kicking down doors and jacking people up. It is what they live for. All that serve and protect is bullshit for the most part.
Yeah, they like "excitement", it seems to be the international norm that police of all different countries just in their hearts and souls genuinely like fucking with people.

Thankfully at least our normal "rank and file" cops don't carry firearms...

1 you are selling a medicen/drug --FDA
2 A consumable product --USDA
3 Taxes
4 Local regulations (dont grow by the school)
5 Big Pharma/Tobacco -- They will want in and the first thing they will do is try to lock you out with laws
6 Companys like Monsanto/ADM damn sure they will come up with some super weed and no one will want your Shwag anyways
7 Security--Damn straight the laws will be modeled after the ATFs for gun sellers. used to be anyone could get a license to sell guns. Now you have onerous rules and regulations that specify location/security systems/paperwork and inspections
8 look at Arizona and how it is illegal to grow within 25 miles of a dispensary

Take the money out of weed and there wont be no problems. It will even be easier to sell legalization to the publics- No money = no crime= no harm
1. It's really no different than alcohol. It's a medicine and drug.
2. Just like beer. And?
3. That's right. Pay your taxes on your earnings. Thought you liked taxes.
4. Yup. Very much like liquor stores.
5.The beer market is filled with companies that aren't Coors, Miller, and Budweiser. Big pharma sells medicinal alcohol too.
6. Maybe. But personally, I would be a consumer. Not everyone can grow.
7. No. Are liquor and gun stores secure? If so why are they robbed all the time? And no. They should be modeled more like alcohol. It's not a gun.
8. Then live 26 miles from one. Or go someplace else that doesn't have that law. I'm talking future.

There will always be money in weed. Some people just can't grow. There will always be buyers. The public is already ok with it. It's the federal government that needs to be sold on the idea.

I personally don't give a shit if they make a brand, as long as people can grow it at home. I would bet that if they made a brand of homogenous plants it might be a decent smoke, but I can't envision a big name brand of packs of joints being better than homegrown.

This group is pushing anti-marijuana rhetoric but ultimately aims for privatization.
I fully agree. I'd rather drink a Rahr than a Budweiser. In my vision, both exist. Hell, I'd love to go down to the local weed store and see the rows of different kinds of weed available for purchase like a liquor or beer store.

you can legally brew your own beer and wine they sell kits for it.
Yeah I've done it. You cant sell it though.
Which goes to my point

legal to possess and grow
Illegal to sell.

Gets the money out of weed which in effect keeps the goverment and the cops and criminals out as well
Plus it is much easier to get legalized that way.

That involves alot more Govt involvement than just...not keeping the money out of it.

Why not let some people sell it, and people grow it themselves in their homes/gardens?

Sorta like yous have it now, without all the "medical" bullshit.

FDA USDA and Treasury Department involvement now Think you can meet the labeling requirements?

2. Just like beer. And?
Safer than Beer
3. That's right. Pay your taxes on your earnings. Thought you liked taxes.
I hate taxes but I dont bitch about the fact that we are paying the lowest taxes in the last 60 years
4. Yup. Very much like liquor stores.
In Arizona you cannot legally grow within 25 miles of a dispensary, Out east you can only by liqour in some states in state run liqour stores
5.The beer market is filled with companies that aren't Coors, Miller, and Budweiser. Big pharma sells medicinal alcohol too.
And they paid up to a half million dollars and counting to sell their beer just in regulatory costs
6. Maybe. But personally, I would be a consumer. Not everyone can grow.
You have freinds right? They wont gift you any weed?
7. No. Are liquor and gun stores secure? If so why are they robbed all the time? And no. They should be modeled more like alcohol. It's not a gun.
Their are standards both Liqour stores and gun stores need to be at. Dont even get me started on what the ATF wants for you to get a dealer license
8. Then live 26 miles from one. Or go someplace else that doesn't have that law. I'm talking future.
Obama is doing it the politically correct way. Let the states lead the way. No president wants to be known as the "Drug Dealer" President be happy with what obama has done for weed it is more than any president in the last 80 years

yeah there is always going to be buyers and sellers. But not criminals if you take the money out of the equation. And the only way to legally do that is make it legal to possess and grow
Illegal to sell

Hasn't Obama busted more dispensaries, growers, etc than any President before him?

Way to advance the cause...

Make it legal to sell and now there is money in it.
Now it has to be regulated
-make sure it is safe
-meets labeling requirements
-facilities need to be secure (it's for the children)
-tested
The day it is legal to sell federally is the day Big Tobacco starts lobbying the goverment to make them the sole legal purveyors of weed if not the local goverments themselves

How many dispensarys existed before obama took office
How many exist now? And name one dispensary that was busted that was complying with Local laws or tax codes
Just one-

1. People meet them now in regards to beer/wine and alcohol.
2. Yup. Much safer. That should make my whole vision even easier.
3. Fair point. I'm not a fan of taxes myself, but the government is. They love them. Unfortunately, that's who has to be pleased in our current situation.
4. And down here some counties are against it but you have regular old liquor stores. Like I said, laws will vary state to state. You can go where it is less strict.
5. And some have paid less. Microbreweries mostly start from home brewers. I feel like all your points are its too hard or too expensive. I have repeatedly said like alcohol, not exactly alcohol. You agree with me that its safer. It doesn't need to be regulated as stringently as alcohol.
6. Sure. They have bummed me bowls etc, but they don't really grow either. Had a friend who used to(like me), but like lots of people, it was small scale, or homebrew. He shared, but it wasn't a ton(like me, I grew to have it for myself). I guess I should expect them to give me an ounce a week. That's about what I go through.
7. Yup. There are also building codes and zoning laws too. They still are opening despite the regulations.
8. There you go again with someone's political career. His is over in a few short years. Fuck his career. Shame on you for putting a politicians career above legalization.

Yeah, no. Some people just can't grow. You don't seem to get that. The black market would still remain. That would mean criminals. You can't take the money out of it.

oh, you mean the collective that said they "just opened", neglecting to mention that they had been targeted by the city of olympia and shut down years before, as well as raided years before for selling pounds out the back door to non-medical clients?

ok.

So they were selling "back door" in a State where it's legal?

Cool story, bro.

it's legal in washington but only through state-run shops, same way you have to buy liquor.

edit: also, while 5 pounds for $2,200 a pound may be a decent deal, it's kinda out of what washington considers "state compliant".

Bayside employee Addy Norton said agents seized personal cell phones of dispensary workers and pot, but left computers and about $1,000 in cash. Agents told her the raid was part of a two-year investigation, and she said she was ordered to appear before a federal grand jury in Seattle in September.

The raid came just days after Bayside was burglarized on Sunday night.
