its a fact that a terpene in mangos increases potency of your cannabis. sounds like proof is in the mangos....i didnt say all terpenes did this but this is a well known fact about eating a mango when blazing....and yes i was sarcastic, i love a good cure!

Duh, that's why everyone that smokes is walking around with mangoes in their pockets. I'm sure you knew all about that well known "fact" before you read it in that link.

That's a very good point. I would counter that with TGA strains. My experience with them have been that they all smell wonderful, but lack a bit in the potency department. Also, Kali Mist is probably the most potent weed I've come across so far, and it really doesn't have a strong odor to it at all.

Either way, it's fascinating stuff and I am really looking forward to more research on this plant. They haven't even scraped the surface yet.
You may be comparing apples and oranges here brother, as both are fruit full of sugars in the end. Some are blown away by strains like Skunk #1 & CaliO, while others are not. I believe this has to do with an individuals physiology and how their individual receptors interpret them. As if I haven't delved to deeply already ...

Consider if you will the buzz/potency of an MJ legend like Super Silver Haze, as most of us here have experienced her. Not a "dank" bud, but most would consider it a wicked sativa. Her known terpene is Alpha-Pinene. Fruity smelling sativas often have another known terpene: myrcene. I assume here that myrcene is prevalent in many TGA strains. There is also the well know limonene and it's related strains. I believe Cali Mist is of Hawaiian origins of which I cannot recall the wholly differing terpene there as well. I believe there are nearly a 120 more terpenes in MJ, but likely the differences between fruits seems valid here.

I see what you're saying. I'll have to pay attention to different smells and how they relate to potency.

I 100% agree that the various compounds in weed affect us all differently. If I smoke a heavy Indica I have a remote in one hand, a bag of chips in the other and my ass on the sofa. My old lady (ADHD) is bouncing around the house being productive. No two noggins are the same.
