The one thing you never hear about SNAP or EBT is that for every dollar spent on the program it creates two dollars worth of jobs.
I couldn't think of a better program run by the government to help people and create jobs at the same time.

Only US citizens or their US citizen children can collect food stampos NLX
Sorry
Now can I post links from the democratic underground or Maybe some other progressive site and call it a citation?
That's not true. immigrants children can collect food stamps.

The 2002 Farm Bill restores SNAP eligibility to most legal immigrants that:
Have lived in the country for 5 years; or
Are receiving disability-related assistance or benefits; or
Children under 18
Certain non-citizens such as those admitted for humanitarian reasons and those admitted for permanent residence may also eligible for the program. Eligible household members can get SNAP benefits even if there are other members of the household that are not eligible.

Only people who are legal citizens of the US can work here... OOPS!!! Well, maybe some of them work under the table with fake ID's... You dont think they would ever consider filing for foodstamps with those fake ID's???

DOH!!

The US government is spending taxpayer dollars to promote foodstamps in Mexico... Dont you find that sort of strange???
How much food do we ship to Mexico?

U.S. exports of agricultural products to Mexico totaled $18.9 billion in 2012, the 3rd largest U.S. Ag export market. Leading categories include: coarse grains ($3.0 billion), red meats, fresh/chilled/frozen ($1.9 billion), and soybeans ($1.9 billion), dairy products ($1.2 billion), and wheat ($1.1 billion).

That number is complete bullshit.

If it was true, they should put everyone on 1000 per month in foodstamps and eliminate unemployment completely...

It is good for business and the poor. You don't think that is good?
You cannot take a dollar from one person and give 80 cents to another person while keeping 20 cents for administrative costs and declare that it is good business...

The person who got taxed the dollar suddenly does not have that same dollar to spend. Business ends up making less than if the dollar was not taken in the first place.

It is roughly $1.84 so I was wrong. but close enough.

I should invite you over to my house to supplement my heating bill with all the hot air you blow around here.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/08/16/obama_ag_secretary_vilsack_food_stamps_are_a_stimulus.html

Obama's Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack: "Well, obviously, it's putting people to work. Which is why we're going to have some interesting things in the course of the forum this morning. Later this morning, we're going have a press conference with Secretary Mavis and Secretary Chu to announce something that's never happened in this country -- something that we think is exciting in terms of job growth. I should point out, when you talk about the SNAP program or the foot stamp program, you have to recognize that it's also an economic stimulus. Every dollar of SNAP benefits generates $1.84 in the economy in terms of economic activity. If people are able to buy a little more in the grocery store, someone has to stock it, package it, shelve it, process it, ship it. All of those are jobs. It's the most direct stimulus you can get in the economy during these tough times."

Most immigrants are scared to even apply for their children, I doubt very many try to lie about their children, sure there are probably some.

Peter gets robbed by the government to pay for every program that we have, do you think we should eliminate all government programs or just the ones that you don't like?

We don;t give everyone $1000 a piece for food because it would increase prices levels for food and be way too expensive of a program. Not really sure of your point of asking this question. There are benefits to the program but of course there are negative side effects as well. Don't you think the best thing to do would be to find a happy medium like we have?

I don;t work for the government, I work for a non-profit.

One Michigan program, which is proposed to go national in the senate proposed farm bill, allows the USDA to purchase food from farmers that would otherwise be wasted because of cosmetic reasons. Do you think that is bad for the economy?
