What's For Dinner Tonight?

both the chinese food places are on vacation apparently, so i splurged to fill the hole they left in my soul.

hot italian sausage straight from the farm, on freshly baked buns from the bakery, with an appetizer of fresh corn chips and a simple avocado dip (just a little salt and chulula mashed in).

i can't wait until the chinese people get back from vacation though.

Mmmm, tacos :)

I did venison meatballs in a tomato, aubergine, and corgette sauce. Tasty. Had a couple of meatballs left after dinner so cut em up and put them and some saue on one half of a pizza and XO sauce over the other half :)

we call them - borrel haapjes!:)

Not sure what to call it. Food to eat when you don't want to cook.
A "Borreltje" is a little drinky poo's after work normally, and a "Haapje" is a little drinky snack! these are mainly nuts, cold meats, bitterbollen (deep fried ragu in batter), vlaametjes (deep fried spicey meat parcels), and one of my wifes faves, "kaasstengels" - deep fried cheese sticks in batter. And they say the Scots are similar to the Dutch...yup, pretty much, just deep fry it and it's all good!

Corgette fritters with mozarella and grano padano, peas and broadbeans sauted with mint and bacon, pasta salad with a lemon and chive vinaigrette :) Damned tasty. Need to experiment more with vegetables. All this veg came from the garden :)

Went to the store to get a ribeye, but the pork chops were on sale. Grilled pork chop, asparagus and red onion. About as easy as it gets.
