Hello Folks, Came by awhile back, got some info and left until I was ready to start a journal. This is my first grow, but it's going well so far. I will post up pics from the very beginning to get everyone caught up. I hope this journal is as popular here as other places. My goal is to learn and teach if I can.

This is DharmaDog, she QA's everything I do!

After being QA'd by DharmaDog and given the official "PASS" the grow tent is done!

Now DharmaDog and I had to patiently wait for these things to arrive to begin the grow. I have saved you the torment and put it in a few posts. I also want the new grower to know what they are getting into besides thinking about harvest time. There is a lot of time between getting ready to plant and successfully harvesting.

I got an ACCU-Rite temp and humidity gauge and a ratchet set for the lights.

Also got Fox Farms Nute Trio. I decided not to go organic first time around. Little more of a learning curve.

I also chose the Fox Farms Ocean Farms as my main soil.

Also picked up an Apollo Electronic Dimmable 400 watt light with a tube cooler that came with a timer, MH bulb, and HPS Bulb

Next bit got a little more exciting as my initial seeds arrived! I had ordered Skywalker OG Kush Feminised, NL #5 X Haze Feminised, Northern Lights Regular, White Widow Auto Fem, and I got two freebies of that Silver LA.

So using the soaking technique, I soaked the two seeds in a glass of water for 12 hours, then planted them in a small pot with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil.

White Widow Auto was first in!

Then came the Silver LA!

The White Widow Auto Broke through first. I call her Lady Galadriel. I am a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien

The Silver LA was a few days later, we were worried, but it all came out fine! Even though it's a she, we named it Gimli!

For some reason I never got a shot Of the Silver LA on day 04. When I planted the White Widow Auto, I hadn't planted the Silver LA initially, I had planted a Sensi Seeds Northern Lights #5 X Haze. Well by day 3 I knew that there was an issue, and come to find out I got a seed with bad genetics from Bonza seed. The plant never grew more than two initial leaves, then stopped. Of course Bonza didn't replace it, they will require me to buy more seeds and then they will throw it in.

So basically there is a 5 day separation between the White widow and the Silver LA, but I will try and make it seamless.

Since the White Widow Auto has about a 5 day lead on the Silver LA, I will catch her up so it will chronologically finish up fro yesterday.

Well hell, I just read that sticky about not posting in journals unless asked too!!! This is a party! You are more than welcome to make conversations, jack the thread for other conversations, this is a free for all fun journal. It's by far not over, I'm not even 3 weeks into the grow, so come one, come all!

Day 12 for the White Widow Auto was August 03, 2013. Right after this picture above, she was transplanted into a 5 gallon smart pot and given 1 gallon of water with 2 Tbsp of Worm Tea.

Here is Lady Galadriel same day after transplant.

That is everything up to last night, everything is going well. I ordered some parts to build an aeroponic cloner in a 5 gallon bucket. If the Silver LA seems strong I might take a clipping. I am more excited about the Big Buddha Cheese and Jack Flash that will be next on my list.

I hope I'm not doing anything incorrectly, but I haven't seen a reply or anything, was I supposed to check in with a moderator first???

Subbed up for the ride DB, looks like you are off to a great start. I have a Silver LA freebie that I've been contemplating a grow with. Just has me worried as the adds say it's a sativa and they can get pretty tall for a tent dwellers requirements. Thanks for the complements in my current grow...positive energy is always good...keeps you truckin.

It depends on what kind of lighting you are using and how close you are keeping it. My title is a misnomer of sorts, I have been using a 2ft 4 bulb T-5 fixture with 6400k bulbs no less than 6 inches away from the plant from the start. Sometimes it depends on the strain, Sativas tend to grow very slow during veg, then when you flip to flower they surge tall.

what is this please. I am wondering why your bending it. ( the pic of the plant with the thing on the stem)
That is what they call a LST (Low Stress Training) it enables you to bend the plant so that more light hits where it might not normally as much. It produces more growth in that area of the stem and hopefully more buds!

Jela, I don't know how well I'll do, but I plan on HST so it doesn't get tall but bushes out. We'll see if it works! thanks for the kudos!
