Yes, a brownout fucks with your gear. I'm not talking about those. Rolling brownouts are intentional blackouts. But unlike a blackout, the outage is known and planned. Ours back in 2002 were over 3 hours and sometimes over 8 hours of no electricity.

But yes, I've experienced brownout issues too. It happens grid to grid where I live. Everyday I'd experience voltage drops that lasted less than a second, several times a minute, for up to about 15 minute spans.

If you're talking lights, pretty much you're screwing over your bulbs and stressing the hell out of your ballast. It's a good thing I wasn't growing then. I use CMH. One good thing is it takes about a half hour to get full brightness and about the same to lose brightness. So it simulates dusk and dawn. But, yeah, with brownouts like at my one residence, I'd have not gotten much of a healthy flower. Since it the reset would occur with each voltage drop.

Yes, roling brown outs, especially in the LA basin. Not so bad this summer yet. Pretty mild. I have dropped back to more simple and tolerate set up. We are never without power more than a few hours thankfully.
