Damn seeds are expensive too, not to mention the stress over losing the order in customs. I can see going out of your way to make some seeds a worthwhile investment.

Yeah they are, and while that's usually worth it if all goes well, things don't always go well (customs, germination problems, dropping one to be forever lost in the carpet and whatnot) so it'll be nice to have a bunch of seeds of my own. I can plant like double the amount I need and grab the best ones only to veg further and flower. Or experiment a little with different germination methods without wasting 10buck-seeds.

Breeding including proper selection and stabilizing etc is a craft by itself but I got over the idea that making seeds is just for breeders. Quite liberating to not fear pollen but embrace it instead. :D

Hey, that's an interesting piece, thanks for sharing. Never heard of/seen that before. Do you know the original source? As far as I know it's impossible to tell by the shape of a seed what it will be later. The shape of the seed is dictated by the calyx it grew in and the seeds/calyxes that surrounded it, not by its sex, and not vice versa either. But, hey, I learn something new every day so it doesn't mean much that those methods are new to me :) A good example of what someone can easily test after creating hundreds of their owns seeds.

Regardless, all my seeds should produce female plants. They should be 100% feminized seeds (with possibly flukes of nature), there's no Y chromosome involved in the process I'm using. That's the beauty of it, I don't need to grow and select males, I can cross two females and end up with more females. This was just a test and I have a gap between this cycle and the next so I don't have clones, but normally, I would have cloned all my six plants, flower the mothers, and then use TM on the clone of the mother with the best results/traits to get the pollen. Same for selecting the target female.

Whether the female parents (another product like Tiresias Mist is Lesbian Dream) are from feminized or regular seeds is irrelevant. Well, actually, feminized seeds from good breeders are "less" prone to turning hermie because of the methods they use (basically pick a plant that does NOT let itself stress to herma naturally, and then cheat using colloidal silver or TM or their own secret formula to turn it herma after all), they basically done the hard part. Starting out with stable strains can save a few headaches.

Hey Bak, where did you get the seed chart? Wasn't it Hotrod or UB? One of those old timers that was born before electricity. :wink:

Anyway, it's been around here for a while and several have tested it with good results. I only buy feminized so I don't have first hand experience.

Ya bro, I got it from Hotrod.
It's worked like 4 for 4 for me, and I've even gone through a bunch of Diesel seeds I have and separated them into what I think are boy/ girl, so I'll see when I do more Diesel.

Thanks for all the info on the tiresia's mist Sativied, really helps make some decisions with it for the future, you know. I could definitely see the benefits of such a product come into play now with everything going on with customs, and all that crap. Plus I would like to start making my own medical seeds for myself, and with the spray you can easily pass on genetics of great fem seeds, and never really have to mess with reg seeds ever. I'm liking that more everyday with the limited space I have to work with, and it soon to be filling up with more reg seeds. I have had alot of luck lately with getting 100% female ratio out of my runs, but that was just the last 4 seeds so it doesn't mean much really. Anyways thanks for the info bro. I love to have my own seed`s best thing beside they are free is that you can avoid shipping, tho my hydro shop do have a nice little verity and I soon need some different smoke as Im on my 8th grow of the same strain, do get a bit "boring" to grow/smoke the same all the time, I do still get wasted tho, seem`s like +20% THC and +1% CBD don't let you down
