How do you avoid a bad taste taste before harvesting?

Remind you of what exactly? Generally an early harvest will give a grassy hay like veggie taste so will a bad cure and overfeeding.. that's all I got

Thanks guys.. what about dissolving honey with water and using that in the last few weeks?

... Flush the plant with water, then add more water with honey in it?

cut the branches into 12 inch lengths, completely trim and manicure while still wet... when drying... 70% humidity for 3-4 days... keep above 60% for 7 more days... cut all buds from the branches... jar when still a little bit wet, not bone dry... burp for 2 weeks... take all buds out and lay on a surface to completely dry (4-24 hrs)... put back in the jar for 1 week... ready to smoke super tasty buds...

Layoff the N... N will get you huge yields, but imo, not as good taste.

toast? oh ok.. My plants like wholemeal....

Are you asking about flushing or getting the dry cure together? Soil or hydro?
Soil.
I was asking about flushing. Because I wan't to avoid any bad tastes in the weed, and I read a heap of shit about the topic but kind of forgot, and what the dudes up there posted already is kind of the info i was after.
Although any other details anyone can include would be choice ;)

Thanks man :)

what's burping?

what's burping?
Burping is opening the jar for a minute or two to let some moisture out.

You need a pretty clean environment to hold 70% humidity w/o mold. In a larger area, you can use a circulation fan.

IMO, getting to know your drying area is key. Pick a spot and dedicate to it... get to know what temps and humidity it stays at with your fan setup.

I like an enclosed small drying space that just barely fits the whole crop... with the smallest exhaust fan you can get on the lowest setting. I use a desktop 3 in fan foil taped to a short run of ducting that runs to a hole in the top of the cab. set the fan to a humidistat or timer to control humidity.

When is a good time of day to flush the plants? Morning, midday or evening? Should I add methylated spirits to the water to make it H202? Or should I flush with normal water and add some H2o2 afterwards?

i think if you're going to add h2o2 then add it during the flush so your plant can breathe and wont droop but i dont know much about flushing yet but it seems like that would be a good thing to do for the plant
am i rite?

I lay off nutes (unless they seem to need it) for the last 2 weeks, I am not a heavy feeder, and I only flush if there is a problem. I will add unsulfered blackstrap molasses to may water, through veg and flower to feed the soil microbes which helps process nutrients.

Other than that, just get good genetics to taste good, and do a proper dry/cure.

I am using molasses and sucanat for the whole flowering stage and I am using both for flushing. Molasses provides carbs along with calcium, magnesium and other nutrients. It also helps feed beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae which have a symbiotic relationship with the plant roots. I have never tried honey but think it could help to sweeten up the buds and maybe add some vitamins or minerals but don't think it would help the root zone. Definitely something to look into. Good luck.

I am flowering now and trying the molasses to my water. My question what next? How much and how often do I water. When do I harvest? Curing and Drying. how tall is good? Will they grow while flowering...Thanks everyone

Flushing does dick all for the taste of the buds.. why people think dumping water into the soil is going to have an effect on the taste of the buds is beyond me..
If flushing made the difference people.claim it.does, everyone would flush because who wants poo tasting buds? No one right ? Of course not.. but the truth is flushing doesn't make a difference! Therefore the debate continues. Flush don't flush.. flush your toilets not your plants..
The taste comes from a proper dry and cure.. that's it.. rush either or get them wrong and your buds and taste will suffer.. get it right and there's nothing better..

I would add, that proper taste also comes from harvesting at the correct time. This may seem overly obvious, but it also a common mistake. You may be able to "fix" the taste from early harvest with a good cure, but sometimes you cannot, and it will take longer to cure than just to wait the extra couple weeks for them to finnish on the plant.

Also, my wife said to avoid asparagus to avoid a bad taste, but I don't think she was talking about harvesting bud.

Agreed.. bud pulled early will usually either have that hay taste and smell, or lil to no smell and taste..
Made that mistake once and boy was I pissed.. never again..
